Printing system and control method thereof
In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. When the target job does not require the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is permitted to execute print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by the user using the user interface unit.
FOLDING MACHINE COMPRISING A BLADE FOLDER, AND METHOD FOR FOLDING FOLDED PRODUCTS BY MEANS OF A BLADE FOLDER
A folding machine comprises a blade folding unit having a first and a second folding roller, the folding roller axes thereof defining a folding roller plane, and having a folding blade which is oriented and is movable in a folding blade plane which is oriented perpendicularly to the folding roller plane and intersects the folding roller plane in an intersection line. The folding blade is arranged in a retracted position in or below a horizontal plane which comprises the intersection line.
SHEET BONDING APPARATUS
A sheet bonding apparatus includes an electrophotographic unit configured to apply powder adhesive on a sheet by an electrophotographic process, a folding portion configured to fold the sheet on which the powder adhesive has been applied by the electrophotographic unit, and a bonding portion configured to heat the sheet folded by the folding portion to bond the sheet by the powder adhesive, wherein the bonding portion and the folding portion are disposed over the electrophotographic unit.
SHEET COLLATING DEVICE
Sheet collating device for accumulating sheets from at least one hopper, comprising: a lower transport path and an upper transport path; a switchable guide for directing the sheets from the at least one hopper to the lower or the upper transport path; left and right upper drive shafts connected to a right and a left upper drive pulleys supporting a pair of upper belts, a drive direction of the pair of upper belts being changed dependent on what transport path of the upper and lower transport paths is selected; first and second lower drive shafts connected to a right and a left lower drive pulleys supporting first and second pairs of lower belts; and a first series of right paddles mounted on the first pair of lower belts and a first series of left paddles mounted on the second pair of lower belts for registering a collated set of sheets.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion configured to heat and press the sheet conveyed from the image forming portion while nipping and conveying the sheet by a first nip portion to fix toner image to the sheet, a folding portion configured to fold the sheet, and a bonding portion configured to heat and press the sheet folded by the folding portion while nipping and conveying the sheet by a second nip portion to bond the sheet by powder adhesive. A peak value of pressure that the second rotary member pair applies to the sheet in the second nip portion is greater than a peak value of pressure that the first rotary member pair applies to the sheet in the first nip portion.
A System for a Paper Folding Machinery
The present invention provides a system 100 for a paper folding machinery 200. The paper folding machinery 200 includes a roller folding unit, a strip directing The strip directing unit 220 directs a strip 300 received from the roller folding unit 210 in a predefined direction and at least one folding unit 230 folds the strip 300 received from the strip directing 200 unit 220. The system 100 includes a detecting unit 20 and mounting units 30a & 30b. The detecting unit 20 detects misalignment of the strip 300 on the strip directing unit 220 and at least one folding unit 230. Each of the mounting unit 30a and 30b enables movements in at least one direction of the strip directing unit 220 and the folding unit 230 respectively mounted thereon for correcting the misalignment of the strip 300 thereon.
SHEET POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS
The present invention is to enable folding processing to be applied to also large sheet sizes without upsizing the entire apparatus, in the sheet post-processing apparatus for performing the folding processing and binding processing on sheets, a sheet post-processing apparatus is provided with a binding processing section for performing binding processing using a binding needle on a sheet bunch inside a storage section, first folding roller pair for nipping a sheet P inside the storage section in a first position to form a first fold portion, a receiving section for receiving the sheet with the first fold portion formed fed out of the first folding roller pair, and second folding roller pair for nipping the sheet inside the receiving section in a second position to form a second fold portion.
CROSS-FOLD MODULE FOR A FOLDING MACHINE, AND FOLDING MACHINE EQUIPPED THEREWITH
The cross-fold module for a folding machine comprises a cross-fold knife which is movable in a reciprocating manner in a folding-knife movement direction, and a pair of folding rollers which form a folding roller gap in which a sheet that previously was fed in the feeding direction is creased for folding by the cross-fold knife. A delivery transport device for the folded product receives the folded product in a receiving portion close to an outlet of the folding roller gap and transports the folded product to a delivery portion. At least the cross-fold knife and the pair of folding rollers are adjustable horizontally, perpendicular to the folding-knife movement direction and perpendicular to the feeding direction.
FOLDED BROCHURE WITH INTERNAL POUCH, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BROCHURES
A brochure is made by folding a single sheet of paper along a plurality of parallel longitudinal fold lines to make an interim piece. The interim piece is conveyed in the direction of the longitudinal fold lines, and folded in a right-angle direction transverse to the first direction, along transverse fold lines perpendicular to the longitudinal fold lines. A pouch is placed inside of the interim piece without adhesive, as the interim piece is folded, and the interim piece is sealed to complete the brochure. The pouch is preferably placed over one of the transverse fold lines. A label can be applied to the brochure if desired.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING FOLD ROLLER GAPS
A collation folding device comprising one or more fold rollers mounted in fixed positions. Below and adjacent to the fold rollers are adjustable nip rollers to form nip spacing between the rollers. The adjustable nip roller is mounted on a nip axis shaft. An adjustment mechanism is used for moving the nip axis shaft to adjust the nip spacing. The nip adjustment mechanism includes a bearing block cam follower on which the nip axis shaft is fixedly mounted and supported. An eccentric cam in operative contact with the bearing block cam follower. Rotation of the eccentric cam on the eccentric cam axis drives the bearing block cam follower in its linear motion to adjust the nip spacing.
