A sheet folding device includes a sheet conveyance path, first and second side plates, a first folding roller pair, a first folding guide, and a guide drive mechanism. The first folding guide is reciprocatable between a folding position and a retracted position, and includes a guide main body and first and second arms provided respectively at both ends of the guide main body. The guide drive mechanism includes a drive source provided on the first side plate, a first drive transmission portion that transmits a drive force of the drive source to the first arm, a second drive transmission portion that transmits the drive force to the second arm, and a drive coupling portion that couples the first drive transmission portion to the second drive transmission portion and transmits the drive force from the first drive transmission portion to the second drive transmission portion.

A sheet folding apparatus includes: a rotor having a first peripheral surface and a second peripheral surface with a radius smaller than that of the first peripheral surface and configured to convey a sheet; and a guide member configured to be movable between a first position where it guides a sheet being conveyed by the rotor and a second position retracting from the first position. The guide member is disposed so as to move from the second position to the first position while passing within the rotation locus of the first peripheral surface of the rotor.

A sheet folding apparatus includes: a rotor having a first peripheral surface and a second peripheral surface with a radius smaller than that of the first peripheral surface and configured to convey a sheet; and a guide member configured to be movable between a first position where it guides a sheet being conveyed by the rotor and a second position retracting from the first position. The guide member is disposed so as to move from the second position to the first position while passing within the rotation locus of the first peripheral surface of the rotor.

A paper folding device that folds a planar paper sheet while conveying the paper sheet along a paper sheet conveyance surface includes a pair of first conveyance rollers disposed on an upstream side in a paper sheet conveyance direction, a pair of second conveyance rollers disposed on a downstream side in the paper sheet conveyance direction, a switching gate plate installed on the paper sheet conveyance surface between both pairs of the rollers, a folding plate disposed above the switching gate plate, and a control unit that controls an operation of an entire device.

A paper folding device that folds a planar paper sheet while conveying the paper sheet along a paper sheet conveyance surface includes a pair of first conveyance rollers disposed on an upstream side in a paper sheet conveyance direction, a pair of second conveyance rollers disposed on a downstream side in the paper sheet conveyance direction, a switching gate plate installed on the paper sheet conveyance surface between both pairs of the rollers, a folding plate disposed above the switching gate plate, and a control unit that controls an operation of an entire device.

An enclosing apparatus for enclosing an enclosure into an envelope at an enclosing position includes a conveyance roller that conveys the envelope to the enclosing position and an envelope conveyance path through which the envelope is conveyed. An enclosing support is disposed in the envelope conveyance path and supports enclosing of the enclosure into the envelope. The enclosing support retracts a flap of the envelope from the envelope conveyance path while the conveyance roller conveys the envelope to the enclosing position.

The cross-fold module for a folding machine comprises a cross-fold knife which is movable in a reciprocating manner in a folding-knife movement direction, and a pair of folding rollers which form a folding roller gap in which a sheet that previously was fed in the feeding direction is creased for folding by the cross-fold knife. A delivery transport device for the folded product receives the folded product in a receiving portion close to an outlet of the folding roller gap and transports the folded product to a delivery portion. At least the cross-fold knife and the pair of folding rollers are adjustable horizontally, perpendicular to the folding-knife movement direction and perpendicular to the feeding direction.

A sheet folding device includes a sheet conveyance path, a first folding conveyance path, a first folding roller pair, a first folding guide, and a conveyance roller. The first folding roller pair is composed of a first roller and a second roller forming a first folding nip by being brought into pressure contact with an upstream side of the first roller. The first folding guide is movable between a folding position at which it approaches the first folding nip, guiding a to-be-folded part of a sheet to the first folding nip, and a retracted position at which it is away from the first folding nip. The conveyance roller forms, together with the second roller, a first assist roller pair that conveys the sheet along the sheet conveyance path. The first folding guide has a pivot fulcrum on a downstream side relative to the first folding nip in the conveyance direction.

An apparatus for treating a stack of sheets of sheet material includes a means for moving the stack of sheets of sheet material towards a first and second fold roller means. The first and second fold roller means are arranged to assist with folding of the stack of sheets of sheet material. The apparatus also includes a first and a second clamping jaw defining a gap. The first and second clamping jaws are arranged to be movable relative to each other to increase and decrease the gap for selective application of a clamping force to the stack of sheets of sheet material having passed between the first and second fold roller means. The first and second fold roller means are mounted in a manner allowing for an increase and decrease in separation and thus between a stack-guiding configuration and a stack compressing configuration.

A printer, which is an example of a liquid ejecting apparatus, includes a movable body including a head for ejecting a liquid or a cap performing maintenance of the head. Further, the printer includes a pair of rack and pinion mechanisms including a rack and a drive gear to move the movable body in a first direction in which the rack extends; and a switching mechanism provided for each of the rack and pinion mechanisms and switching presence and absence of meshing between the rack and the drive gear when the movable body is at an exchange position.
