Quick change braking system
A braking system for a welding machine is provided. In one aspect, the braking system includes a brake surface, a spool hub shaft, a spool hub, an adjustment knob and an expandable and compressible member. The spool hub shaft is capable of engaging against the brake surface. The expandable and compressible member is provided between the spool hub and the adjustment knob to apply varying levels of force on the spool hub. The spool hub shaft has at least one tab which is capable of engaging with a recess in the adjustment knob to adjust the force applied by the member on the spool hub.
Spindle unit
This invention includes an annular hysteresis brake (34) having one end fixed to a stationary frame (11), a support shaft (6) extending through a hollow portion of the hysteresis brake (34), and a spindle part (4) rotatably supported by the support shaft (6). The hysteresis brake (34) includes a yoke (36), a cylindrical hysteresis member (46) inserted into an annular space (41) of the yoke (36), and a hub (37) for rotatably supporting the hysteresis member (46). The spindle part (4) is supported by the support shaft (6) such that the spindle part (4) is restricted from moving toward the hysteresis brake (34) by a sleeve (15). The spindle part (4) and hub (37) are coupled with each other so as to rotate together via pins (21). This invention can simplify the structure while preventing damage to the hysteresis brake, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of a thread-supplying spindle unit.
Motorized tensioning system
A tensioning system for articles of footwear and articles of apparel is disclosed. The tensioning system includes a tensioning member that is tightened or loosened using a motorized tensioning device for winding and unwinding the tensioning member on a spool. The motorized tensioning device includes a torque transmitting system that allows for incremental tightening, incremental loosening and full loosening of the tensioning member.
Wire electrode supply apparatus and wire electrode supply method
The present invention provides a wire electrode supply apparatus for suppressing wire electrode driving vibration for wire electrodes having a wide range of diameters and formed of various materials, thereby improving processed surface roughness. The wire electrode supply apparatus includes a back tension adjustment unit that adjusts a back tension of the wire electrode drawn from a source bobbin, a tension applying unit, and a constant pressure ejecting unit that ejects the wire electrode with constant pressure and rate after the transference via the tension applying unit and an electrical discharge machining unit. The tension applying unit includes a low tension applying unit that applies a tension to the wire electrode, and a high tension applying unit that can supply a higher tension. After the high tension applying unit supplies a tension, the low tension applying unit supplies a tension. Otherwise, only the low tension applying unit supplies a tension.

Tension dependent brake actuation for cable management and deployment
A cable management system and method of use are provided in which brake actuation which controls a cable payout rate may be dependent on cable tension. A control system may be provided for adjusting cable tension and braking force.
