A sheet conveying device includes a blocking member having a blocking surface with which a leading end of a sheet that is being conveyed comes into contact for obliquity correction. The blocking member is rotated by being pushed by the sheet against an urging force of a positioning unit that positions the blocking member to be in the standby position. The blocking member is rotatable to be in a sheet-passage-allowing orientation in which the sheet is allowed to pass. When a trailing end of the sheet that is being conveyed has passed the blocking member, the blocking member that is in the sheet-passage-allowing orientation rotates in a same direction as a sheet conveyance direction and is positioned to be in a standby position.

The control portion controls the contact-release mechanism to move the first and second conveyance rollers away from each other, and aligns the sheet with the pair of alignment members located opposite each other in the sheet width direction.

The pair of registration rollers freely contacts and separates from each other. The pair of registration rollers conveys the sheet downstream of the sheet skew corrector in the sheet conveyance direction when driven at a prescribed time. A pair of conveyance rollers is placed upstream of the pair of registration rollers in the sheet conveyance direction. The pair of conveyance rollers continuously sandwiches the sheet from when the sheet with the skew corrected is sandwiched by the pair of registration rollers to when a trailing end of the sheet passes between the pair of conveyance rollers.

Each of the calibrating swingarms has an arm portion and a pivoting axle portion arranged on the arm portion to pivotally connect the arm portion to the image generating device. The arm portion has an extending segment and a limiting segment extended from the extending segment, the limiting segment is downward extended along the calibration path toward an exit of the calibration path to be swingable and to block the exit of the calibration path.

The present subject matter discloses detection of positions of print medium for driving the print medium for printing in a printing system, in an example implementation, a motor is operated for driving the print medium, at a first specific speed, along a media-path in the printing system. After a first specific number of rotations of the motor, it is detected, based on identification of a torque change event, that the print medium at a de-skew position in the media-path. At the de-skew position a leading edge of the print medium is at a de-skew unit of the printing system and the torque change event is indicative of a deviation in a current operating torque of the motor from a standard operating torque of the motor.
