End-to-end cognitive elevator dispatching system
A method and system for controlling elevator dispatch is provided. User data, including user behavior, is collected from a number of users over a specified time period. Elevator use data for a number of elevators in a building is also collected over the specified time period. Applying the user data and elevator use data, an elevator dispatch model is constructed that predicts future elevator use according to predicted user needs. An elevator control system dispatches the elevators according to the dispatch model. The elevator dispatch model is refined according to feedback data collected from users over a subsequent time period.
ELEVATOR CALL ALLOCATION WITH STOCHASTIC MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION
Devices, methods and computer programs for elevator call allocation with stochastic multi-objective optimization are disclosed. At least some of the disclosed embodiments allow an elevator group control to take into account knowledge about possible future passenger arrivals when allocating new calls. At the same time, the new elevator calls can be allocated via optimizing multiple objectives, such as the waiting time, the time to destination, and/or the energy consumption. In other words, the invention makes it possible to both take into account the uncertainty related to future passengers and control the trade-off between different optimization objectives.
Destination dispatch sectoring
A method of operating a building elevator system within a building having a plurality of floors including: controlling a building elevator system comprising a first elevator system having a first elevator car and a second elevator system having a second elevator car; determining one or more sectors for the plurality of floors in response to at least one of a time of day, manual input, a density of the down peak traffic, and whether there is simultaneous up peak or inter-floor traffic, the one or more sectors comprising a first sector having a first plurality of floors and a second sector having a second plurality of floors; assigning the first elevator car to the first sector; and assigning the second elevator car to the second sector.
Associated mobile elevator calls
A method of operating an elevator call control system comprising: receiving a first elevator call from a first individual carrying a first mobile device, the first elevator call including a destination request to travel from a first boarding floor to a first destination floor; determining that the first individual carrying the first mobile device is traveling with a second individual, wherein the second individual is traveling to a second destination floor; assigning an elevator car to the first elevator call; and scheduling the elevator car to transport the first individual carrying the first mobile device and the second individual together to at least one of a first destination floor and the second destination floor.
System for monitoring lobby activity to determine whether to cancel elevator service
Disclosed is an elevator system in a building, the elevator system including a first elevator car for transporting a passenger between a plurality of building levels, the system including a controller that controls the elevator car, the controller: rendering a first determination that the passenger has requested elevator service from the first lobby, rendering a second determination to assign the elevator car to provide service to the passenger at a first lobby for the first level, effecting a first transmission to the elevator car to effect the second determination, rendering a third determination that the first lobby becomes unoccupied in a time period between effecting the first transmission and the elevator arriving at the first lobby for servicing the first passenger, rendering a fourth determination to release the elevator car from effecting the second determination, and effecting a second transmission to the elevator car to effect the fourth determination.
Method and arrangement for condition monitoring of a rope of a hoisting apparatus
The invention relates to a method for condition monitoring of a rope of a hoisting apparatus, and to an arrangement for condition monitoring of a rope of a hoisting apparatus, preferably of an elevator for transporting passengers and/or goods. The arrangement for condition monitoring of a rope of a hoisting apparatus according to the present invention, in which rope comprises one or more conductive load bearing member for bearing the load exerted on the rope in longitudinal direction and extending parallel to each other and to the longitudinal direction of the rope, comprises an at least one eddy current testing probe, placed near said rope for generating an alternating magnetic field, said alternating magnetic field causing eddy currents in said rope, and for detecting a secondary magnetic field being generated by said eddy currents in said rope as eddy current detection data, and an on-line monitoring unit receiving and utilizing said eddy current detection data for on-line condition monitoring of said rope.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM AND ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A method for operating an elevator system that includes an elevator car movable between landings in response to an elevator call registered by an elevator control unit. The method includes determining a special operating mode of the elevator system, the special operating mode being different from a nominal operating mode at least with respect to a characteristic of use of the elevator car, and operating, in the special operating mode, the elevator system so as to reduce a number of passengers entering the elevator car from the landing compared to the nominal operating mode based on the characteristic.
SOLUTION FOR CONTROLLING PASSENGER FLOW
A method for controlling a passenger flow in a building includes: dividing a group of elevators to sub-groups; receiving a service call; selecting a sub-group to provide a service and generating an indication for indicating the selected sub-group; selecting a first candidate elevator; evaluating a second candidate elevator by comparing the second forecast time to the first forecast time; selecting the second candidate elevator to provide the service if the second forecast time is less than the first forecast time. The evaluation is continued until a selection is locked for the service call due to at least one characteristic relating to the elevator system. The invention also relates to a group controller, a computer program product, and an elevator system.
Systems and methods for improved elevator scheduling
Methods and systems for controlling elevator systems are provided. The methods include receiving inputs from at least one interactive input device, wherein the inputs include elevator call requests, tracking one or more people located within a monitored area using at least one sensor, assigning elevator assignments to the one or more people based on at least one of the inputs from the at least one interactive input device and a grouping algorithm based on the tracking of the one or more people, and scheduling operation of at least one elevator car based on the elevator assignments.
Crowd sensing for elevator systems
An aspect includes capturing crowd data associated with a lobby area of an elevator system. A dispatching schedule of one or more elevator cars of the elevator system is adjusted based on the crowd data. A notification of the adjustment to the dispatching schedule is output.
