Elevator

An elevator includes an elevator shaft defined by surrounding walls and top and bottom end terminals; an elevator car vertically movable in the elevator shaft; elevator hoisting ropes coupled to the elevator car; an elevator hoisting machine including a traction sheave engaged with the elevator hoisting ropes; a traction monitor configured to determine traction of the hoisting machine; an electromechanical brake; a measuring apparatus adapted to provide speed data and position data of the elevator car; and a safety processor associated with the traction monitor and the measuring apparatus. The safety processor includes an ETLS threshold configured to decrease towards the top and/or bottom end terminal in accordance with the position of the elevator car. The ETSL threshold is adjusted on the basis of the traction of the hoisting machine. The safety processor is configured to determine an elevator car slowdown failure if the speed data meets or exceeds the ETSL threshold.

Inferred elevator car assignments based on proximity of potential passengers

An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator system includes a destination entry device configured to allow a passenger to indicate an intended destination prior to entering an elevator car and at least one detector configured to detect a proximity between the passenger and at least one other individual that has not indicated an intended destination. A controller is configured to determine whether the detected proximity between the passenger and the at least one other individual satisfies at least one criterion indicating that the at least one other individual likely is associated with the passenger, will board an elevator car with the passenger, and will travel to the intended destination with the passenger. The controller is configured to assign an elevator car to carry the passenger and the at least one other individual to the intended destination when the detected proximity satisfies the at least one criterion.

LIMIT SWITCH SYSTEM

The present disclosure relates generally to a limit switch system for an elevator. The limit switch system includes a limit device configured to determine a position of the elevator car at a location of the hoistway upon selection of an inspection state.

BIOMETRIC PRE-IDENTIFICATION
20230004983 · 2023-01-05 ·

A station device in a biometric pre-identification system uses identity to perform one or more actions. Identities are determined (such as via a backend) using biometric information. A biometric pre-identification device obtains biometric information and/or a digital representation thereof from a person approaching the station device. The biometric pre-identification device transmits such to the station device, facilitating the station to begin and/or perform various actions. The station device begins or performs the actions using the identity determined based on the biometric information before the person arrives at the station device.

Elevator systems and methods for displaying information associated with the elevator systems. The systems including an elevator car located within an elevator shaft, a display located within the elevator car, and an elevator emergency monitoring system having an elevator shaft monitoring device mounted on the elevator car and configured to capture an image of the elevator shaft. The elevator car is operable in an emergency mode of operation such that an image captured by the elevator shaft monitoring device is displayed on the display within the elevator car.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A PASSENGER CONVEYOR SYSTEM BY RELIABLY CONFIGURING AN ELECTRONIC SAFETY DEVICE
20230219785 · 2023-07-13 ·

A passenger conveyor system has a controller and a safety device monitoring a safety-relevant system function. The safety device is in a “configured” state monitoring the safety-relevant function according to specifications when a target configuration parameter is stored. A system operating method includes: the controller receiving a first configuration parameter and a second configuration parameter created independently of the first parameter; transmitting the first and second parameters to the safety device; wherein the parameters relate to the same target configuration parameter; comparing the first and second parameters in the safety device and, when the parameters match within a prespecified tolerance, storing the corresponding target configuration parameter in the safety device and transmitting the target configuration parameter and/or a “configured” signal from the safety device to the controller. The controller controls the functionalities of the passenger conveyor system according to whether it received the target configuration parameter and/or the “configured” signal.

ELEVATOR CALL ALLOCATION WITH STOCHASTIC MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION

Devices, methods and computer programs for elevator call allocation with stochastic multi-objective optimization are disclosed. At least some of the disclosed embodiments allow an elevator group control to take into account knowledge about possible future passenger arrivals when allocating new calls. At the same time, the new elevator calls can be allocated via optimizing multiple objectives, such as the waiting time, the time to destination, and/or the energy consumption. In other words, the invention makes it possible to both take into account the uncertainty related to future passengers and control the trade-off between different optimization objectives.

Destination dispatch sectoring

A method of operating a building elevator system within a building having a plurality of floors including: controlling a building elevator system comprising a first elevator system having a first elevator car and a second elevator system having a second elevator car; determining one or more sectors for the plurality of floors in response to at least one of a time of day, manual input, a density of the down peak traffic, and whether there is simultaneous up peak or inter-floor traffic, the one or more sectors comprising a first sector having a first plurality of floors and a second sector having a second plurality of floors; assigning the first elevator car to the first sector; and assigning the second elevator car to the second sector.

Elevator access systems for elevators

Elevator access systems having an access control module operably connected to an elevator system and an access device located within the access control module and removable therefrom, wherein when the access device is within the access control module a normal mode of operation of the elevator system is activated and when the access device is removed from the access control module, the elevator system enters a safety mode of operation.
