A method and a monitoring device determine a wear state of components such as a cable-like suspension means, a traction sheave of a drive machine and deflection rollers of a suspension means arrangement of an elevator system. The method comprises at least the following steps: monitoring an actual time curve of a first parameter which correlates with the wear state of at least one first monitored component of the components; comparing the actual time curve of the monitored first parameter with a predetermined expected time curve of the first parameter; and determining the wear state of the monitored component based on a result of the comparison.

ELEVATOR SYSTEM COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF DIFFERING SUPPORT MEANS

An elevator system includes at least one car and at least one counterweight. At least two support means having different physical properties are arranged between the at least one car and the at least one counterweight.

DRIVE SYSTEM FOR AN ELEVATOR INSTALLATION, ELEVATOR INSTALLATION, AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING A DRIVE ON A SUPPORT ELEMENT OF AN ELEVATOR INSTALLATION

A drive system for an elevator installation includes a drive and a drive suspension for fastening the drive to a support element of the elevator installation. The drive suspension includes a rotary joint for tiltably mounting the drive on the support element and an adjustment device for setting a tilt of the drive about the rotary joint. The support element can be a guide rail wherein the drive system is arranged in an upper end region of the elevator installation.

Elevator apparatus

An elevator apparatus includes: a traction machine including a sheave around which a middle portion of a main rope from which a car and counterweight are suspended is wound; a controller configured to control travel of the car; a section specification unit configured to specify a determination target section serving as a travel section, including at least a travel position of the car, satisfying a predetermined determination execution condition; a sheave rotation detector configured to detect a sheave rotation amount; and a determinator configured to determine traction performance of the sheave based on the sheave rotation amount detected during travel of the car in the determination target section. The determination execution condition is to have a load weight and an acceleration of the car that cause direction of an acceleration vector of one of a car side and a counterweight side heavier than the other to match an ascent direction.
