VARIABLE SPEED MOVING WALKWAY SYSTEMS
A variable speed moving walkway system has a plurality of walkway modules, each having at least one movable belt, wherein each of the plurality of walkway modules are positioned at least one of: immediately linearly adjacent or immediately laterally adjacent to another. The movable belt of each walkway module moves at a different speed from the belt of an immediately linearly adjacent and/or an immediately laterally adjacent walkway module. A transition between the walkway modules may include a stationary wedge and at least one rotational brush positioned in a gap formed between the stationary wedge and the at least one belt of each walkway module, and/or a transition T-bar positioned between the at least two walkway modules.
SYSTEM OF HEXAGONAL BUILDING UNITS AND ESCALATORS OR MOVING WALKWAYS USED THEREIN
A system of hexagonal building units is provided herein. The building units may be configured in a honeycomb configuration. The building units may be configured for a variety of different uses, including any of the following: residential, commercial, entertainment, community, government, retail, parking, storage, and office space. An escalator or moving walkway is also provided herein. The escalator or moving walkway may contain multiple lanes operating at varying speeds and may have a circular, oval, curved or straight shape. The escalator or moving walkway may also include at least one lane having segments that operate at different speeds.

Robotic step transfer system for connecting ascending and descending spiral escalator steps
This invention provides a circular tower spiral escalator structure with counter-rotating sprocket wheels at the top and bottom floors that use a side bow roller chain to connect and drive the ascending and descending escalator steps. Two pedestal robots and a step conveyor at the top and bottom floors pick up each escalator step when it arrives and move it to the opposite side of the circular tower where it departs. An alternate design replaces the two pedestal robots and step conveyor with a double arm pedestal robot on the top and bottom floors. Both designs provide continuous transport of escalator riders to a plurality of floors of varying ceiling heights with level entries and exits on each floor.

Helical escalator system
The present application includes a system configured to provide transportation services between two different elevations. Individuals may be transported upward or downward within a circular stairway. The system includes a series of fixed stairs coupled to a housing. It also includes a series of corresponding movable stairs coupled to a central shaft. The movable stairs are configured to move in relation to the central shaft and are operable to provide transportation between two fixed stairs. An individual is lifted and translated between the fixed stairs as the movable stairs transition between a plurality of positions.
