Turning system for belt transport system

A turning system for a belt transport system, wherein the belt of the same is formed by a plurality of pallets and the transport system has a turn input stretch and a turn output stretch, arranged on the same horizontal plane. The turning system has a curved stretch, which connects the turn input and output, the curved stretch being arranged on the same horizontal plane as the turn input and output.

Escalator

An escalator includes movable step segments. Each step segment includes a rectangular step plate with a constant height, a tread, and four corners. The tread of each step segment is in a horizontal position during a front transport movement and in an oblique position during a rear return movement. Four wheels which include two front wheels and two rear wheels are assigned to each step segment, with one wheel being mounted at each of the four corners. Two endless transport chains transport the two front wheels at a front transport section. Two first tracks have the two rear wheels run thereon without being attached to any of the two endless transport chains. Two rear second transport tracks are arranged in a rear return transport section. The two rear second transport tracks transport each step segment back with the tread in an oblique position via the two endless transport chains.

This invention provides a circular tower spiral escalator structure with counter-rotating sprocket wheels at the top and bottom floors that use a side bow roller chain to connect and drive the ascending and descending escalator steps. Two pedestal robots and a step conveyor at the top and bottom floors pick up each escalator step when it arrives and move it to the opposite side of the circular tower where it departs. An alternate design replaces the two pedestal robots and step conveyor with a double arm pedestal robot on the top and bottom floors. Both designs provide continuous transport of escalator riders to a plurality of floors of varying ceiling heights with level entries and exits on each floor.
