Electronic information plate of an elevator component
Elevator components can be equipped with an electronic information plate. The electronic information plate are associated with a particular electronic information plate that can store different properties of the associated component. The content of each electronic information plate is read manually or automatically and transmitted to a controller. The controller analyzes the received content and launches a predetermined action if the content indicates a possible mistake or a fraud.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING PROPERTIES OF A SUPPORTING-MEANS ARRANGEMENT IN AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A method and a supporting-means monitoring device monitor properties of a supporting arrangement in an elevator system. The supporting arrangement has a plurality of supporting devices that support and can displace an elevator car. The method includes: measuring tensile forces acting on the supporting devices; and deriving change information indicating changes in the properties of the supporting arrangement by analyzing the progression over time of the measured tensile forces. By such an analysis, taking into consideration, for example, a temporal gradient, a frequency spectrum, and/or an amplitude of the progression over time of the measured tensile forces, there is derived e.g. information about wear on a surface profiling or a traction surface of a deflection roller or a traction sheave, information about wear on guide rails and/or information about wear of lateral guide structures on a roller for guiding one of the supporting devices.
CONDITION DETECTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SURFACE INSULATING LAYER OF ELEVATOR TRACTION BELT
A condition detecting method and device for a surface insulation layer of an elevator traction belt. The condition detecting method includes: positioning a detecting component adjacent to the surface insulation layer of the elevator traction belt; moving the elevator traction belt relative to the detecting component, so that the detecting component scans the surface insulation layer of the elevator traction belt; applying static electricity to the detecting component through a static electricity generation component; detecting the reaction of the elevator traction belt to the static electricity; and identifying the condition of the surface insulation layer of the elevator traction belt according to the detected reaction of the elevator traction belt to the static electricity.
MAINTENANCE METHOD OF AN ELEVATOR COMPONENT
Elevator components can be equipped with an electronic information plate. The electronic information plates are associated with a particular electronic information plate that can store different properties of the associated component. The content of each electronic information plate is read manually or automatically and transmitted to a controller. The controller analyzes the received content and launches a predetermined action if the content indicates a need for maintenance.

Elevator rail healthy monitoring method
A method of monitoring component health is provided. The method includes moving a health monitor over a scattering surface of the component, emitting light of various wavelengths toward the scattering surface from a light source of the health monitor, observing one or more responses of the scattering surface to the light of the various wavelengths at a detector of the health monitor and identifying a condition of the scattering surface from the observed one or more responses of the scattering surface to the light of the various wavelengths.
System and method for monitoring wire ropes
A system and method for monitoring a first wire rope and a second wire rope is provided. The first and second wire ropes each include a contact portion that contacts a sheave, a first end portion, and a monitored portion that extends between the contact portion and the first end portion. The sheave electrically connects the contact portions of the first and second wire ropes. The system includes a controller that is electrically connected to each of the first and second wire ropes to form a circuit with the monitored portions of the first and second wire ropes. The controller selectively applies a signal to the monitored portions of the first and second wire ropes and determines an electrical characteristic thereof. The controller uses the determined electrical characteristic to determine a condition of the first and second wire ropes.
ELONGATION BASED MONITORING OF TENSION MEMBERS
A method and apparatus includes an indicator mark that is located on at least one tension member at a predetermined distance from a fixed point. A visual indication of tension member replacement is provided when the indicator mark approaches a specified distance from the fixed point after a tension member length adjustment.
