LOADER FOR HOISTING SKYLIGHT ONTO ROOF
An L-shaped track has a vertical part configured to stand on the ground, a horizontal part configured to span over a roof, and a curved part in between. A motor-driven winch moves a carriage up and down the track. The carriage engages a skylight, which can be quickly and easily hoisted from the ground to the roof up the track to the roof to install the skylight.

PROTECTIVE PLATFORM ASSEMBLY FOR USE DURING ELEVATOR INSTALLATION
An illustrative example embodiment of an assembly includes a first platform and at least one first brace associated with the first platform. The first brace is configured to engage a surface in or near a hoistway for supporting the first platform in a vertical location near the surface. A portion of the first brace is moveable relative to the first platform between an extended position for engaging the surface and a retracted position for allowing the first platform to move relative to the surface. A second platform is vertically spaced from the first platform. An adjustment mechanism associated with the first platform and the second platform facilitates adjusting a vertical spacing between the first platform and the second platform.
Base isolation apparatus, lifting apparatus, and base isolation unit
A structure having limited supportable portions has been difficult to isolate from vibration in the direction in which a load is applied. A base isolation apparatus includes a Z-axis base isolation unit, an X-axis base isolation unit, and a Y-axis base isolation unit. The base isolation unit includes a vibration-source connector, an isolated-object connector, a lock device disposed between the isolated-object connector and the vibration-source connector for switching between a state of fixing the isolated-object connector and a state of making it movable, a distance recovery device for generating a force to cause an amount of change in distance to approach zero, depending on the amount of change, and a vibration damper for generating a force in an orientation of hindering the change, depending on the rate of change in distance.
Lifting aid for attic ladder system
A lifting aid for an attic ladder includes a track system having a plurality of attachment means configured to secure about a corresponding number of attic ladder rungs. A hand winch is secured to the base of the device and is in mechanical operation with a tray which runs up and down the attic ladder to which the track system is secured.

Elevator car and method of making same
An elevator car for transporting people and goods and having a floor panel, at least three side panels, and a roof panel together forming a door opening. The floor panel, at least one side panel, and the roof panel are unitarily formed of a thermoplastic synthetic resin. A force-spreading element substantially more rigid than the panels is fixed in or on an face of one of the side panels or the roof panel. A hoist system for the car is fixed by fasteners to the load-spreading element.
Installation device and method bringing an installation device into an installation position in an elevator shaft
An installation device used in an elevator shaft has a first carrier with first and second carrier ends, a support element pivotably arranged on the first carrier end, and a holding apparatus holding a displacement apparatus by which installation material can be displaced in the elevator shaft. When the installation device is in an installation position, the first carrier end is supported against a threshold of an elevator shaft door opening by the support element and the second carrier end is supported at least indirectly against a shaft wall that is opposite the door opening. The holding apparatus is arranged on an upper side of the installation device in the installation position such that the displacement apparatus is supported from above on the holding apparatus.

ELEVATOR SHAFT ELEMENT, ELEVATOR ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD
An elevator shaft element, an elevator arrangement and a method. The elevator shaft element comprises a frame module arranged for receiving an elevator car therein. The frame module is constructed from a transport and/or storage unit, comprising side walls, a bottom wall and a roof wall. The unit is arranged to be positioned vertically such that said side walls, bottom wall and upper wall of the unit define an inner space of the elevator shaft. Elevator car guides for guiding movement of the elevator car in the elevator shaft element are attached to said bottom wall and/or roof wall.
