Winch Line For Soft Shackling
A hookless winch rope for securing to an object includes a first rope having a first end and a second end. The first end has a first loop and comprising a choke. A second rope is separate from the first rope. The second rope includes a third end and a fourth end. The third end includes an enlarged knot forming an engagement notch receiving the first loop. The first rope and the second rope are joined by a first interwoven portion.
AIRCRAFT CAPABLE OF HOVERING AND METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING A LOAD SUSPENDED FROM SUCH AIRCRAFT
There is described an aircraft configured to be able to hover, comprising a fuselage; and a support element adapted to support a load, made of elastically deformable material and constrained to said fuselage; the support element being movable in an operating position in which it is arranged at least partially outside said fuselage and supports said load; the aircraft comprises a sock surrounding the support element arranged in said operating position; the sock is configured to contain the elastic return of the support element, in case the support element arranged in said operating position is sheared off.
Wire rope protection sleeve
A protection sleeve is provided for a wire rope to prevent the wire rope from contacting other components in an oil and gas operation. The protection sleeve, in some embodiments, has a body that substantially corresponds to the wire portion of the wire rope, and the protection sleeve has specialized flaps at the ends of the body that correspond to thimble eyes of the wire rope. The protection sleeve may have a variety of configurations to accommodate different aspects of a wire rope or any other device that necessitates protection.
Protective device useful in transporting and lifting objects having easily damaged surfaces, including delicate, coated, painted, and polished surfaces
A protective device in the form of a strap including an outermost layer having a first rigidity and a first coefficient of friction, the first coefficient of friction selected to permit a rigging line to self-center between two points when the rigging line is in contact with the outer layer and under tension and an innermost layer having a second, different lower rigidity and a second different coefficient of friction, the second different coefficient of friction selected to prevent movement of the protective device relative to an object as the rigging line self-centers. The protective device prevents damage to the coated surface, including but not limited to telegraphing of the strap onto the coated surface.
ROPE EDGE PROTECTOR
A rope edge protector for protecting a rope as is passes over an edge during rope access and rope rescue is described. The rope edge protector comprises a body with a curved channel portion on an outer surface configured to receive at least one rope, wherein the channel portion is enclosed by a pair of side walls; a first underside surface configured for placement on a first face of an edge; and a second underside surface forming a dihedral angle with the first underside surface and configured for placement on a second face of an edge. An attachment mechanism comprising a strap connects the body to a second body and to a cam for tensioning the strap between the bodies to secure the bodies to opposing edges.
SAFE METAL FREE AND HOOKLESS WINCH ROPE
A safe metal free and hookless winch rope includes a stopper knot formed at an end of the winch rope that is opposite an end of the winch rope intended to be wound around a winch, and a plurality of brummel style openings formed inline along at least a portion of the winch rope. The stopper knot can be selectively inserted into any brummel style opening of the plurality of brummel style openings to wrap around an object during a winch operation and the stopper knot will be securely held in the selected brummel style opening when the winch rope is under tension during the winch operation.
System for lifting a wind turbine rotor blade
A system for lifting a wind turbine rotor blade, including a wind turbine rotor blade, a lifting device having a sling, the sling supporting the wind turbine rotor blade at a longitudinal position where the wind turbine rotor blade has an aerodynamic profile, a leading edge and a profile chord arranged horizontally, and a leading edge protector having a front portion placed at the leading edge and a lower leg extending from the front portion and placed below the wind turbine rotor blade, wherein the front portion and the lower leg are formed as a sandwich construction having an inner top layer, an outer top layer and a core material, wherein a thickness of the core material increases from a free end of the lower leg towards the front portion in order to reduce a deformation of the wind turbine rotor blade at the leading edge.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ENDLESS LOOP
A method for manufacturing a rope structure comprising providing, around a first roller and a second roller, a loop including a plurality of twisted strands. The method further comprising feeding a plurality of body strands onto the loop, feeding including, with the plurality of body strands connected to the loop, moving the loop about the first roller and the second roller to cause the body strands to lay and be twisted on the plurality of twisted strands.
Method for anchoring a holding means in a wind turbine and adapter
A method for anchoring a sling of a rope for supporting loads, in a wind turbine, the wind turbine includes at least two components connected via a bolt-and-nut arrangement includes multiple pairs of bolts and nuts at opposing flanges, the nuts fastening to the bolts at the upper flange, wherein at least one adapter includes a cylindrical outer holding surface for receiving the sling is placed atop of at least one nut covering its edges, and the sling is fastened to the adapter is provided.
