METHOD AND CONTAINER TRANSFER INSTALLATION FOR PLACING CONTAINERS INTO AND REMOVING CONTAINERS FROM CONTAINER STORARE AREAS
The invention relates to a method and to a container transfer installation (2, 102) for placing containers into and removing containers from or transferring containers (1) in high-rack or block storage arcs (3, 15) of a seaport or inland port within a container transfer installation (2, 102) having an integrated, fully automatic container transport system. An accelerated process having high total throughput is achieved in that individual containers (1) are deposited by the at least one loading gantry (6) successively onto pallets (19) or transverse conveying carts (18) provided on a transfer cart (8; 8a, 8b) that at least has an upper and a lower accommodating and conveying level (I, II) and can be moved parallel to the container storage area (3, 15), and the pallets (19) loaded with a container (1) are led over means of pallet transverse conveying means (25) or the containers (1) are led over by means of the transverse conveying carts (18) of the transfer cart (8; 8a, 8b) from the transfer cart onto an end distribution vehicle (9; 9a, 9b), which can be moved parallel to the container storage area (3, 15) and is positioned in line before the transfer cart (8; 8a, 8b) and has an upper and a lower level (I, II) and are led over by means of transverse conveying means (20; 25) from the end distribution vehicle onto a stationary transfer station (10) of the container storage area (3, 15), which transfer station likewise has an upper and a lower level (I, II) and from which transfer station a storage area crane (12) lifts the container (1) in order to place the container in the container storage area (3, 15).
Automated handling of shipping containers and connectors
A system for managing shipping containers and twist lock connectors is described. The system includes multiple stations. Each station includes a container platform and a pallet station. The container platform is able to accommodate various container sizes and/or multiple containers at one time. The container platform includes connector changers, handlers, and gantries that are able to automatically engage connectors with a container and disengage connectors from a container. The station includes a shuttle able to transfer connectors between the platform handlers and pallet station handlers and gantries. The pallet station includes a pallet with multiple receptacles for storing connectors. The pallet station and/or the container platform may include one or more magazines and/or one or more conveyors.
Container crane comprising reference marker
It is provided a container crane including: a spreader configured to controllably attach to a container; a container trolley to which the spreader is attached via cables, the container trolley being provided on an upper part of the container crane and being horizontally movable along a first direction; a first sensor arrangement mounted on the container trolley, the first sensor arrangement being usable to determine a position of the container; a second sensor arrangement being usable to determine a position of a target; and at least one reference marker provided fixed, in at least two dimensions, to a horizontal support provided along the first direction between vertical structures of the container crane, the at least one reference marker being provided vertically lower than the first sensor arrangement and the at least one reference marker being detectable by the first sensor arrangement.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOVING CONTAINERS BETWEEN VEHICLES AND PLATFORMS
A system is configured to move a group of containers including at least five containers simultaneously between a vehicle and a platform. The system includes a container support frame configured to support the group of containers, at least one hoist, and a conveyor. The at least one hoist is configured to raise and lower the container support frame and the containers when the containers are secured to the container support frame. The conveyor is configured to move the container support frame and the containers between the vehicle and the platform.

SYSTEM FOR HANDLING AND STORAGE OF ISO CONTAINERS
A system (100) for handling and storage of containers (200), system (100) comprising a structure (102) having storage cells (104) therein. Cells (104) are configured to store a container (200). Cells (104) are arranged in a rectangular prismatic array comprising a plurality of arrays (A.sub.1, A.sub.2 . . . A.sub.16). Each array comprises columns (C.sub.1, C.sub.2 . . . C.sub.15) and rows (R.sub.1, R.sub.2 . . . R.sub.18). Arrays (A.sub.1, A.sub.2 . . . A.sub.16) are arranged in pairs on opposite sides of void areas (V.sub.1, V.sub.2 . . . V.sub.8), each of which extends vertically and horizontally through the structure (102). Each cell has a container access opening (106) communicating with its associated void area (V.sub.1, V.sub.2 . . . V.sub.8). Container cranes (108) are provided for each void area (V.sub.1, V.sub.2 . . . V.sub.8). Container engagement assemblies (108c) are releasably engaged with respective opposite longitudinal ends of carrier (108a) of cranes (108). Upon movement into a cell (104), assemblies (108c) engage and are vertically supported by horizontal members (102c) at the top of the cell.
