LIFTING TOOL FOR BATTERY PACK

A lifting tool for replacing a battery pack in an electric vehicle is provided. A body has a lifting interface that is attachable to an external lifting aid. A first arm is provided with a first lifting arrangement and a second arm is provided with a second lifting arrangement, where the battery pack is adapted to be positioned between the arms when the lifting tool is to lift and hold a battery pack. The lifting tool includes locking pins adapted to be inserted horizontally through the lifting arrangements of the lifting tool and the lifting openings of the battery pack, such that the locking pins secure the battery pack to the lifting tool.

A materials handling vehicle including a battery receiving space, and a removable battery assembly, wherein: the removable battery assembly includes lateral battery faces, each including a longitudinal guide structure; the battery receiving space includes opposing guide blocks, each arranged on opposite sides of the battery receiving space, and each including a securement portion and a replaceable portion; the replaceable portion of each guide block including a friction-inducing surface and a guiding surface; each friction-inducing surface facing an opposing one of the lateral battery faces; and each guiding surface facing an opposing surface of the longitudinal guide structure, with the removable battery assembly seated in the battery receiving space.

Battery transfer apparatus

A battery transfer apparatus for loading/unloading batteries from materials handling vehicles includes a mobile unit and a battery stand. The mobile unit is used to transport batteries into/out of materials handling vehicles and includes load handling structure comprising at least one roller, which is used to roll batteries into/out of materials handling vehicles. A top wall of the battery stand includes at least one opening and support structure of the battery stand engages a surface so as to support the battery stand thereon. The battery stand is engaged by the mobile unit during battery transfer operations by inserting the roller(s) up through the opening(s) in the top wall of the battery stand such that the roller(s) can engage the battery through the opening(s). The battery stand is capable of storing the battery while the battery is out of the materials handling vehicle.

Systems and methods for a modular battery system

A modular battery system for a material handling vehicle is provided. The modular battery system includes a counterweight assembly, a battery assembly enclosing a power source and including a battery base, and a pair of channels removably coupled to the battery base and laterally separated from one another to define a counterweight slot therebetween. The battery assembly is configured to be slidably installed onto the counterweight assembly with the counterweight assembly received within the counterweight slot defined between the pair of channels.
