Thus, a specific product can be displayed efficiently in a beverage dispenser to be used by an unspecified number of people.

Systems and methods for dispensing chilled wine using a dispensing appliance. The appliance generally comprises a housing or enclosure protecting internal components and providing a chilled chamber for wine storage and an unchilled chamber for electric and other components. An airtight wine “silo” containing a packaged wine is insertable into a cradle in the chilled chamber for attaching to a fluid connector system. The user operates a handle to control wine flow. Identifiers on the silo may be read and transmitted to a server, where learning algorithms can suggest alternative wines the user may like based on user feedback about prior wines used with the appliance.

A handle mounting assembly for a faucet comprises a quick connect coupling and an adapter. The quick connect coupling has a female threaded end and a female coupling end. A system and method for dispensing beverage from a container, such as wine from a wine bottle. An identification element may be secured to a beverage container and include a tag and optically readable code that uniquely identify the container. A dispenser may dispense beverage from a container, and be able to read the tag of the identification element. Information regarding characteristics of beverage in the beverage container may be associated with a corresponding identification element and include a brand, type, vintage or volume of beverage in the container.

Disclosed are embodiments of a beverage dispensing system that controls the flow of beverage based on information acquisitioned from a marker associated with a vessel for the beverage. The system utilizes a switching apparatus located in the tap of the dispensing unit that can selectively enable mechanical connection between the hand lever of the tap and the stem based on the information acquisitioned. Some embodiments include a hand tilt device for automatically controlling the flow of beverage, and a vessel tilt device to adjusting the tilt of the vessel so as to achieve a preferred pour.

Beverage availability information for the user can be determined. The beverage availability information can specify categories of beverages that the user is authorized to dispense. Valves can be selected that correspond to the authorized beverage categories. The valves can be enabled to allow the user to dispense beverages from the authorized beverage categories. The quantity of beverages dispensed can be tracked.
