20230159318 · 2023-05-25 ·

A dispenser and methods for dispensing a material into a receptacle comprises a dispenser outlet for dispensing material into the receptacle; a support for receiving a receptacle; at least one lateral sensor positioned to laterally sense a receptacle received on the support; an upper sensor positioned to sense a receptacle received on the support from above; and a controller operatively connected to the lateral and upper sensors. The controller is configured to sense the presence of a receptacle received on the support, calculate the volume of the receptacle and/or the volume of material within the receptacle from data received from the lateral and upper sensors, and control the volume of material dispensed from the dispenser outlet into the receptacle based upon the calculated volume of the receptacle and/or the volume of material within the receptacle.

DISPENSING PLANT WITH AUTO-CALIBRATION AND AUTO-CALIBRATION METHOD THEREOF

A plant for dispensing a beverage of one or more fluids ingredients into a container, including one or more dispensing lines to dispense the fluid ingredients, a nozzle, fluid-dynamically connected to the dispensing lines for dispensing the beverage into the container, a control unit to associate values with the flow rate of fluid in the dispensing lines, the plant further including at least one calibration unit connected to the control unit for measuring a value associated with the quantity of fluids dispensed into the container and adjust the values associated with the flow rate of the fluid in each of the dispensing lines, so the difference between the measurement of the values associated with the quantity of fluids delivered in the container and the quantity of fluid associated with the flow rate of fluid in the dispensing lines is less than a threshold or in a confidence interval.

BEVERAGE-DISPENSING APPLIANCE HAVING A CHILLED CARBONATOR

A beverage-dispensing appliance may include a carbonation tank, a carbonator jacket, a cold water line, and an ice bin. The carbonation tank may define a tank volume, a water inlet upstream from the tank volume, a carbon dioxide inlet upstream from the tank volume, and a carbonated water outlet downstream from the tank volume. The carbonator jacket may define a jacket volume disposed about the carbonation tank. The cold water line may extend to the carbonator jacket in upstream fluid communication with the tank volume to direct a cold water flow to the tank volume. The ice bin may be spaced apart from the carbonation tank. The ice bin may define a drain aperture upstream from the cold water line to direct melt water thereto.

MANAGING DISPENSEMENT OF FLUID TO A RECEPTACLE
20230202824 · 2023-06-29 ·

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for using imaging data to manage the dispensement of fluid to a receptacle. Imaging data captured by a camera configured with a fluid dispenser may be used to control receptacle autofill operations for the fluid dispenser. An embodiment operates by receiving first imaging data that indicates a receptacle. Classification information that indicates empty and full states for the receptacle may be determined, for example, by a predictive model. The embodiment may cause fluid to start pouring into the receptacle based on an image of the first imaging data and the classification information indicating that the receptacle is in the empty state. The embodiment may receive second imaging data and cause the fluid to stop pouring into the receptacle based on an image of the second imaging data and the classification information indicating that the receptacle is in the full state.

Hands free, controlled autofill for a dispenser

A dispensing system includes one or more digital image capture devices for capturing images in a dispenser well and a digital image analyzer operatively coupled to the digital image capture device(s) for analyzing the images for use in regulating a dispensing operation. The digital image analyzer evaluates digital images captured by the digital image capture device(s) to determine various characteristics of a container placed in the dispensing well, such as the height and position of the container.

AUTOMATIC WATER DISPENSER FOR REFRIGERATOR
20210387845 · 2021-12-16 ·

A method for automatically filling a container with water and/or ice from a dispenser in a refrigerator door or within a refrigerator cavity includes the steps of: placing a container adjacent the dispenser; determining a volume of the container by using a camera associated with the dispenser, capturing a picture of the containing, visually estimating a volume of the container via a microprocessor associated with the camera or a cloud-based application associated with the camera, and converting the estimated container volume to an estimated weight based on densities of water and/or ice; filling the container with water and/or ice from the dispenser based on the estimated weight; and terminating filling of the container based on the estimated weight. And the refrigerator carrying out the method.

BEVERAGE DISPENSER VALVE WITH FILL DETECTION
20210380394 · 2021-12-09 · ·

A system and method for dispensing a beverage includes the detection of a presence of a cup underneath a nozzle, and in response to the detected presence of the cup, a target fill height is calculated. The controller operates to begin a dispense of a beverage into the cup. A beverage fill height determined and compared to a target fill height. When the beverage fill height exceeds the target fill height, the controller operates to stop dispensing the beverage into the cup.

LIQUID DISPENSING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
20220185650 · 2022-06-16 ·

Disclosed herein are a water purifying device and a method for controlling the same. The water purifying device is characterized in that a water discharge module capable of moving vertically is provided with a sensor. Specifically, in the water purifying device of one embodiment, the sensor may measure a height of a container, by transmitting and receiving a signal for measuring a distance at a first point of the water discharge module, and may detect both a height of the inlet of the container and a water level, by transmitting and receiving the signal and measuring a water level at a second point of the water discharge module.

Dispense control system for a refrigerator appliance

A dispense control system for filling a container using a dispensing assembly of a refrigerator appliance and a method for operating the same are provided. The dispense control system includes an emitter for generating a beam of energy and a scanning assembly for selectively directing the beam of energy along a scan path comprising a plurality of scan positions. A receiver detects the beam of energy reflected by the container or the liquid at each of the plurality of scan positions and a controller determines a height of the container or the liquid at each of the plurality of scan positions along the scan path based at least in part on a travel time of the beam of energy between the emitter and the receiver.
