AUTOMATIC DEF TANK FILLING SYSTEM
A fluid filling system for filling a tank from a source of fluid. The system is particularly beneficial for filling a DEF tank. The system has a pump connected to a fluid source, such as DEF. A fill hose has a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is connected to the pump. The distal end includes at least one first sensor mounted adjacent the distal end. The distal end is adapted for insertion into the tank. A CPU is operatively connected to the first sensor and the pump. The first sensor communicates with the CPU to energize the pump when the sensor fails to sense fluid when the fill hose is inserted into the tank. The CPU deenergizes the pump when the first sensor senses fluid when inserted into the tank. As a result, the fluid filling system continually fills the container through the fill hose.
Device for discharging and returning fluids
The invention relates to a device for discharging a first fluid and for returning a second fluid, comprising a main channel (13) for discharging the first fluid and a return channel (14) for returning the second fluid. According to the invention, a test channel (15) is provided which connects the main channel (13) to the return channel (14), the main channel (13) having a narrowing (16) and the test channel (15) issuing into the main channel (13) in the region of the narrowing (16). The device further has a sensor (17) which is designed to determine a pressure in the test channel (15). The invention further relates to an outflow tube, a delivery nozzle and a delivery pump having a device according to the invention. With the aid of the invention, active return of the second fluid can be shut off in a simple and safe manner.
Fluid transfer device with pressure equilibrium valve
Complementary couplers useful in providing a coupling through which liquids may be transferred from a first storage reservoir or tank to a second storage reservoir or tank, which can be an on-board fuel tank of a motorized vehicle. There is a first coupling which is configured to be in fluid communication with the interior of a receiving vessel, fuel tank, etc. and a second coupling which is intended to be in fluid communication with the contents of a storage reservoir containing a chemical, liquid fuel, etc. The disclosure also includes a process for charging a fuel reservoir on board of a motorized vehicle from a remote reservoir, wherein the vapor in the fuel reservoir is displaced by an equal volume of fuel delivered from said remote reservoir, and wherein the vapor in said fuel reservoir is simultaneously caused to be transferred to said remote reservoir, thus permitting no escape of the vapor from said fuel reservoir to the surrounding atmosphere. Through use of the present disclosure, more rapid liquid transfer through individual couplers occurs with reduced losses of liquid chemicals, fuel, etc. versus prior art couplers. A remote reservoir useful for recharging fuel to a motorized vehicle, having a two way pressure equilibrium valve is also provided.
FLUID DISPENSING SYSTEMS
A fluid dispensing system. The fluid dispensing system includes a portable source container, a fluid dispensing nozzle, a pump system, a fluid conduit, and a power connector. The pump system includes at least one pumping portion for pumping fluid through a first fluid passage, an electric motor for powering the first pumping portion and a power receptacle for receiving power to the electric motor. The pump system is coupled the source container or the fluid dispensing nozzle. The power connector includes at least one retaining clip biased to a retaining configuration, the first retaining clip in the retaining configuration being configured to enable the power connector to be retained in the power receptacle.
Fuel pump holding strap
The fuel pump holding strap is a mechanical device. The fuel pump holding strap is configured for use with a vehicle. The vehicle further comprises a metal mesh screen flooring. The metal mesh screen flooring forms a platform commonly used by the operator of a vehicle for entering and exiting the vehicle. The fuel pump holding strap is configured for use with a fuel pump nozzle. The fuel pump nozzle is a nozzle configured for use in dispensing fuel into the vehicle. The fuel pump holding strap comprises a pipe clamp and a plurality of fastening structures. The pipe clamp attaches the plurality of fastening structures to the fuel pump nozzle. The plurality of fastening structures secures the fuel pump nozzle to the metal mesh screen flooring such that the fuel pump nozzle does dislodge during the fuel transfer process.
Fuel nozzle
A fuel dispensing nozzle of a fuel dispensing system comprising a lockout mechanism that prevents the delivery of fuel when the fuel nozzle is not inserted into a fuel reservoir. The fuel dispensing nozzle includes a lookout plunger selectively restrained from movement by a rocker arm. The rocker arm maintains a freely moveable condition or a constrained turn movement condition based on the status of the fuel nozzle.
Fuel dispensing nozzle with interlock
A nozzle for dispensing fluid including a nozzle body having a spout and fluid path through which fluid to be dispensed is flowable. The nozzle includes an actuator configured to detect when the spout is sufficiently inserted into a fluid receptacle, and a shut-off device configured to selectively terminate or prevent fluid dispensing operations through the fluid path. The nozzle further includes an interlock operatively coupling the actuator to the shut-off device. The interlock includes a slider that is operatively coupled to the actuator and a pivotable arm that is operatively coupled to the shut-off device, and the slider is slidable along the arm.
