Fuel Dispenser Utilizing Wi-Fi Direct User Interface
A fuel dispenser comprises fuel flow piping defining a flow path from a source of fuel toward a fueling nozzle. A plurality of fuel handling components are disposed along the fuel flow piping. Control electronics are in operative communication with the fluid handling components. The fuel dispenser includes network circuitry operative to create a wireless peer to peer network with an adjacent vehicle. After creation of such network, the control electronics receive transaction information from the vehicle in electronic form via the network circuitry, and cause at least one function of the fuel dispenser to be controlled for a transaction based on the transaction information.
Determining Dispenser Vehicle Connection
In one aspect, image data characterizing a video feed acquired by a camera oriented toward and including a field of view, of a forecourt of a dispensing station, that includes a dispenser and a vehicle can be received. Movement data indicating that the vehicle is physically connected to the dispenser while the vehicle is in motion can be determined from the received image data. A command can be determined based on the determined movement data. The command can be provided. Related apparatus, systems, methods, techniques, and articles are also described.
Management of vehicle fueling safety
A method and associated system for managing vehicle fuel safety. Input from at least one sensor is received. The input indicates that a fuel pump nozzle of a fuel pump is disengaged from the fuel pump or inserted into a vehicle's tank enclosure. The vehicle adjacent to the fuel pump is monitored to detect when the vehicle is preparing to move or is starting to move away from the fuel pump. An alarm is activated indicating that the fuel pump nozzle is disengaged from the fuel pump, or inserted into the vehicle's tank enclosure, and the vehicle is preparing to move or is starting to move.
