Additive injection system for a retail fueling station and related methods
An additive injection system includes an additive injection controller operable to: (a) receive fuel data; (b) determine, from the fuel data, a total fuel amount corresponding to a total volume of fuel present in a fuel tank; (c) determine an untreated fuel amount corresponding to a delivered volume of untreated fuel delivered into the fuel tank, the untreated fuel amount determined based on the total fuel amount and a treated fuel amount corresponding to an expected volume of treated fuel expected to be present in the fuel tank; and (d) in response to determining that the untreated fuel amount exceeds an injection threshold, generate an injection signal to initiate injection of fuel additive into a fuel stream of untreated fuel being delivered into the fuel tank via the fuel tank inlet.
Foam-in-bag systems and components thereof
A system includes a dip tube, a feed line, and a check valve. The dip tube is inserted through an opening in a source of chemical precursor and into the chemical precursor in the source. A portion of the feed line is located in the dip tube. The feed line passes out of the dip tube. The chemical precursor is capable of flowing out of the source through the feed line in a downstream direction. The check valve is located in the portion of the feed line in the dip tube. The check valve permits the chemical precursor to pass substantially only in the downstream direction. The feed line is coupled to a transfer pump that draws the chemical precursor out of the source through the portion of the feed line in the dip tube.
Blending apparatus and method
A method of delivering a selected fuel product having a selected octane level to an operator from a fuel dispenser including a blend manifold, a fuel nozzle, and a fuel hose extending therebetween, including the steps of determining a first volume of a first fuel that is retained in the fuel hose upon completion of a first fueling event, determining a first octane level of the first volume of the first fuel, determining a second volume of a second fuel having a second octane level, and delivering the first fuel volume and the second fuel volume to the operator during a second fueling event, wherein a total volume of fuel equaling the first volume of the first fuel and the second volume of the second fuel has a total octane level that falls within a predetermined limit of the selected octane level of the selected fuel product.
Dilute chemical solution production device
A chemical solution supply part for supplementing the chemical solution to the chemical solution storage tank and a purge gas supply part for supplying N.sub.2 gas as a purge gas to the chemical solution storage tank are in communication with the chemical solution storage tank, and a first manometer serving as a pressure measurement part is arranged on the chemical solution storage tank. In addition, a drain piping is connected to a head portion of the plunger pump, and an automatically controlled air-bleed valve, which is an air-bleed mechanism, is arranged on the drain piping. On the other hand, a second manometer is arranged in the middle of the chemical solution supply pipe, and a front end of the solution supply pipe on the downstream side serves as an injection point for the chemical solution S.

Disclosed is an apparatus for preparing and dispensing a lubricant and coolant liquid product including a body with a base that defines a support surface for at least one container of an additive product and having a collection tank above which the container can be positioned, a storage reservoir of water suppliable from a water source, a mixing unit in communication with the reservoir and with the at least one container of the additive product, to mix the water and the additive product in a predetermined concentration, first pumping means adapted to pump the water from the reservoir toward the mixing unit, a control unit to control at least the first pumping means, and a dispensing circuit for dispensing the lubricant and coolant fluid obtained in the mixing unit. The body further includes a containing structure that encloses one, several or all the aforesaid components.
Fuel delivery system having additive injection assembly
A fuel dispensing system for dispensing fuel into a vehicle comprises a stationary fuel tank adapted to contain a quantity of fuel. At least one fuel dispenser is in fluid communication with the fuel tank via piping. A pump is operative to transfer fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel dispenser. A level detector is located in the fuel tank. A tank monitor is in electronic communication with the level detector, the tank monitor being operative to produce information indicative of the quantity of fuel in the fuel tank. The fuel dispensing system further includes a fuel additive injection assembly comprising an additive reservoir configured to contain a quantity of fuel additive. A controller is in electronic communication with the tank monitor to receive information indicating a delivery of fuel into the fuel tank, the controller having a processor and memory operative to execute instructions determining when an additive quantity should be provided. Additive piping defines a flow path extending between the additive reservoir and a discharge location. A valve is situated along the flow path, the valve being in electronic communication with the controller to open so that the fuel additive will flow along the flow path. A meter is also situated along the flow path and is operative to measure a flow of the fuel additive, the meter being in electronic communication with the controller.
Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Safety System and Method
A multiply-redundant system that protects fueling of rockets, aircraft and other vehicles using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) along with an oxidizer such as Liquefied Oxygen. One or more sensors in combination with one or more optional microswitches combine to detect any leaks, fire or explosion hazards quickly locking out further fueling. For different levels of safety, different combinations of sensors can be used.
