FILLING MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR MAKING SAME
The filling material includes down with synthetic fibers having particles present on the surface of the fibers. The particles are characterized by a configuration which allows attachment of the down to the fibers.
The associated method of manufacturing the filling material includes steps of obtaining a quantity of down and a quantity of synthetic fibers having particles on the surface thereof, wherein the particles allow attachment of the down to the fibers. The down and fibers are blended together to produce the filling material.
WASHABLE CELLULOSE ACETATE FIBER BLENDS FOR THERMAL INSULATION
A fiber blend containing: (a) a cellulose acetate (CA) staple fibers having a denier per filament (DPF) of 3.0 or less; and (b) structural staple fibers having a dpf of 6.0 or more; and (c) optionally binder fibers. The fiber blend can be made into nonwoven webs for heat-bonding and subsequent use as thermal insulation in, e.g., outerwear, bedding, etc. The fiber blend can now contain sustainably derived fibers, optionally biodegradable, that provide good thermal insulation clo values and loft even after multiple wash cycles along with good short term compression recovery.
Antimicrobial washable pillow
A washable pillow comprising of a molded foam core with antimicrobial resistance encased in a washable netting and a sleeve. The pillow may be washed and dried using conventional household methods without significant damage or loss of mechanical properties.
AN ARTIFICIAL FEATHER FILLING MATERIAL
An artificial feather filling material. The material comprises artificial feathers (1), Each of the feathers (1) comprises a first sheet (20) of a first nonwoven material, A filament (10) is arranged along one extension of the sheet and the fiber is bonded to the first sheet.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL DOWN REPLACEMENT
Articles (100, 200, 300, 400) are described herein. An example article may comprise a first surface (404) comprising a first lattice. The example article may comprise a second surface (406) at least partially spaced from the first surface (404) and having at least one common terminal connection point with the first surface (404). The first surface (404) may comprise a second lattice. The first surface (404) and the second surface (406) may define a cavity (407) therebetween. The first surface (404) and the second surface (406) may be capable of being deformed from a first state to a second state under a compression force to constrict a volume of the cavity. The first surface (404) and the second surface (406) may be capable of returning to the first state when the compression force is released.
CONSUMER GOODS MADE WITH PIECES OF VERTICALY LAPPED NONWOVEN
Consumer products such as pillows for bedding or furniture, sack-like furniture, toppers for car seats, office seats, or household seats, and pet mattresses, are constructed from an outer casing, such as a woven or knitted fabric or a quilted fabric which may include a cushioning layer and a plurality of cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material. The outer casing may be sewn closed but preferably includes a zippered opening or other opening which can be selectively opened and closed to allow the consumer to add or subtract cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material from the interior volume of the outer casing. A zippered inner layer may neatly hold all of the cut pieces of vertically lapped nonwoven material together while the outer casing is changed or cleaned.
FOAM FILLING ELEMENTS
A foam piece for filling a comfort item, includes a body part and several foam arms having a first end and a second end, where the first end is attached to the body part, and the second end protrudes away from the body part, and a plurality of contour recesses between the foam arms. The invention further relates to a plurality of foam pieces to be used as filling for a comfort item, and it relates to a comfort item with such filling. Thereby, foam pieces are supplied which are better at retaining elastic expansion and elastic deformation characteristics than the foam solutions of the art by retaining at least some air between pieces in the uncompressed state. A filling is thereby obtained having good filling properties and adding air to the comfort item.
BULK FILL MATERIAL
Among other things, the inventive subject matter generally relates to bulk fill materials suitable for an insulative or cushioning material. The bulk fill material consists of a plurality of discrete units comprising clusters or loose webs of fibers. The fibers consist of superfine fibers and/or fibers in a range of 1 to 5 denier; the fibers being entangled to form the clusters or loose webs. In some embodiments the clusters or webs are multinode fiber structures that mimic natural down. The inventive subject matter is also directed to related methods of production.
Variable contour pillow and method of making the same
Variable contour pillow and method of making the same, comprising: a pillow cover preferably with internal seams, a plurality of internal interconnecting members that define the thickness and/or taper of the pillow in desired locations along the length and/or width of the pillow, the method comprising steps of attaching the interconnecting members during the process of filling the pillow, alternately preferably hand filling behind an interconnecting member, interconnecting the interconnecting member, filling in front of the first interconnecting member and a next interconnecting member, interconnecting the next interconnecting member, and so on, until the pillow is completely filled and desired multiple levels of fill and/or surface tapers are achieved, with specific application to construction of a form-fitting body pillow with variable shape and thickness of fill material.
Pillow with separate interior compartments
A pillow including a pillow-liner having an upper liner, a lower liner, and at least one middle liner. The upper liner, lower liner, and at least one middle liner are sealed together adjacent peripheral edges thereof to define an open end and at least two internal compartments. The at least one middle liner is generally parallel with the upper and lower liners. The pillow also includes cushioning materials for filling the at least two internal compartments. Each of the at least two internal compartments are filled with different cushioning materials such that the internal compartments have different density and firmness when filled with the respective cushioning materials. At least one of the at least two internal compartments is filled with a plurality of loose pieces of a shredded foam material, and at least one of the at least two internal compartments is filled with a one-piece molded foam material.
