Systems and methods for power production with integrated production of hydrogen
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for power production. In particular, a power production cycle utilizing CO.sub.2 as a working fluid may be configured for simultaneous hydrogen production. Beneficially, substantially all carbon arising from combustion in power production and hydrogen production is captured in the form of carbon dioxide. Further, produced hydrogen (optionally mixed with nitrogen received from an air separation unit) can be input as fuel in a gas turbine combined cycle unit for additional power production therein without any atmospheric CO.sub.2 discharge.
CARBON CAPTURE IN FERMENTATION
What is described is an integrated steel mill and a bioreactor configured to produce useful products from the waste stream of the steel mill. A waste gas stack which is connected to the steel mill is connected to a heat exchanger to cool the waste gas from the steel mill. The cooled gas is pressurized using a pressurization apparatus connected to the heat exchanger. The pressurized gas is sent to an oxygen removal apparatus connected to the pressurization apparatus. An oxygen depleted waste stream from the oxygen removal apparatus is passed to a bioreactor (connected to the oxygen removal apparatus) where microorganisms ferment the waste stream to products. Optional apparatus such as scrubbers, valves, buffers, are also disclosed. The products of the fermentation in the bioreactor can be ethanol and or acetate.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING GAS AND USE
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for purifying gas, wherein the gas which includes at least tars and/or undesired hydrocarbons is supplied to a catalytic treatment reactor which has at least one catalyst zone including at least one catalyst element with a catalyst, oxygen gas is fed into the catalyst element of the catalyst zone in the catalytic treatment reactor and is supplied through the catalyst element, the gas is arranged to flow to the catalyst zone and arranged to contact with the oxygen gas and the catalyst, and a purified gas is discharged from the catalytic treatment reactor. Further, the invention relates to the use of the method.
HYDROGEN PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
Herein discussed is a hydrogen production system comprising: a catalytic partial oxidation (CPDX) reactor; a steam generator; and an electrochemical (EC) reactor; wherein the CPDX reactor product stream is introduced into the EC reactor and the steam generator provides steam to the EC reactor; and wherein the product stream and the steam do not come in contact with each other in the EC reactor. In an embodiment, the EC reactor generates a first product stream comprising CO and CO.sub.2 and a second product stream comprising H.sub.2 and H.sub.2O, wherein the two product streams do not come in contact with each other.
Plant and method for generation of synthesis gas
Method and plant for generation of synthesis gas, comprising the steps of air fractionation to give oxygen, nitrogen and tail gas, gasification of a hydrocarbonaceous fuel to give crude synthesis gas and cleaning of the crude synthesis gas by removal of acid gas by means of cryogenic absorption, wherein the absorbent is cooled by means of a compression coolant circuit and the cooling water used is cooled by evaporative cooling by means of the tail gas obtained in the air fractionation.
Process for purification and conversion of carbon dioxide using renewable energy
The present invention is generally directed to processes and systems for the purification and conversion of CO.sub.2 into low-carbon or zero-carbon high quality fuels and chemicals using renewable energy. In one aspect, the present invention provides a process for producing a stream comprising at least 90 mol % CO.sub.2. In certain cases, the CO.sub.2 stream is processed to make low carbon fuels and chemicals. In this process at least a portion of the CO.sub.2 is reacted with a stream comprising H.sub.2 in a Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS) reactor to produce a product stream that comprises CO.
NOVEL COKING RESISTANT NiFeAl CATALYST FOR PARTIAL OXIDATION OF METHANE TO SYNTHESIS GAS
A novel NiFeAl-based catalytic material was developed for the conversion of methane, the main constituent of natural gas, to synthesis gas, which is a mixture of H.sub.2 and CO in a H.sub.2/CO molar ratio of 2, through partial oxidation by air at reasonable temperatures.
Hydrogen Production and Carbon Sequestration via High Temperature Cracking of Natural Gas In An Inductively Heated Fluidized Carbon Particle Bed
Embodiments of the invention relate to systems and methods for cracking hydrocarbons into hydrogen gas and carbon using heating of a fluidized bed. The systems and methods utilize electrically conductive carbon or graphite particles as a fluidized bed material for heating hydrocarbon feedstock to at least a pyrolysis temperature. The electrically conductive carbon, graphite, or other particles may be heated by electrically powered sources that include induction heating, microwave heating, millimeter wave heating, joule heating and/or plasma heating. Combustion heating may also be employed in varying amounts with varying combinations of electrically powered heating sources.
ACCOMMODATION BODY AND TRANSPORTATION METHOD
Provided is an accommodation body that accommodates a raw material including a hydride from which a hydrogen-containing gas is capable of being obtained by subjecting the raw material to a dehydrogenation reaction. The raw material and a dehydrogenation product produced in combination with the hydrogen-containing gas by the dehydrogenation reaction are capable of being loaded together in an internal space.
