INTEGRATED AMMONIA AND SULFURIC ACID PRODUCTION PLANT AND PROCESS
Integrated plants and associated processes for producing ammonia and sulfuric acid have been developed comprising air separation and water electrolysis subsystems and which make surprisingly efficient use of the products from these subsystems (i.e. oxygen and nitrogen from the former and hydrogen and oxygen from the latter). The invention is particularly suitable for use as part of an integrated fertilizer production plant.
Preparation of phosphoric acid
The invention relates to a method for the industrial preparation of phosphoric acid from an aqueous suspension comprising water and particles of at least one phosphate material dispersed in the presence of at least one additive of the anionic polymer type. Phosphoric acid is obtained by treating this suspension with at least one strong acid. The polymer is obtained by polymerization reaction of at least one acid selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and salts thereof. The invention relates to the use of this anionic polymer as well as the method for improving the rheology of the suspension and the hydrodynamics of the reaction medium in which the reactions for the manufacture of phosphoric acid take place.

METHOD FOR REMOVING CADMIUM IN THE MANUFACTURE OF PHOSPHORIC ACID
Methods for removing cadmium (Cd) from a phosphoric acid solution produced in a wet process for manufacturing phosphoric acid, comprising treating the wet-process phosphoric acid solution with a small amount of a solid adsorbing material and a complex reagent to form a cadmium complex-contaminated solid adsorbing material, and removing the contaminated solid adsorbing material to yield a treated phosphoric acid solution having a low Cd content.

Method for removing iron in the manufacture of phosphoric acid
In the manufacture of phosphoric acid from ore, the typical ore comprises minerals containing phosphorus and calcium along with varied amounts of other elements. Certain ores have substantial iron content which needs to be removed in order to produce quality phosphoric acid product. An improved method and associated chemical processing plant are disclosed for removing this iron. The method involves both reducing and adding oxalic acid to wet process phosphoric acid produced using an otherwise conventional manufacturing process. Iron oxalate precipitate is created which can then conveniently be separated therefrom.
Method for recovering phosphorus
The present invention concerns a method for recovering phosphorus by thermochemical reaction of a phosphorus-containing material such as an alternative fuel, for example, in the presence of calcium-containing particles in a moving bed reactor and subsequent separation of fines enriched with phosphorus from the moving bed reactor. Furthermore, the present invention concerns the use of a recyclable material obtained by the method as a fertilizer or fertilizer additive.

METHOD FOR REMOVING HEAVY METALS IN THE MANUFACTURE OF PHOSPHORIC ACID
Methods for removing heavy metals from a phosphoric acid solution produced in a wet process for manufacturing phosphoric acid, comprising treating the wet-process phosphoric acid solution with a small amount of a solid adsorbing material and a complex reagent to form a heavy metal complex-contaminated solid adsorbing material, and removing the contaminated solid adsorbing material to yield a treated phosphoric acid solution having a low heavy metal content.
Method for etching a phosphate source using acid
Process of acid attack with sulphuric acid of a phosphate source comprising calcium or not comprising calcium for a predetermined time period ranging from 20 to 180 minutes in the conditions wherein the molar ratio of sulphate from the sulphuric acid and possibly from the phosphate source to the calcium present in the phosphate source ranges from 0.6 to 0.8, and the content in P.sub.2O.sub.5 in the attack tank is of less than 6%.
