RRAM Materials and Devices
Methods for the manufacture of stable strontium titanate nanocube sols are disclosed. The sols are useful in the manufacture of switchable layers suitable for RRAM applications and the switching performance is stable and reproducible. The RRAM layers comprise a mixture of strontium titanate nanocubes and surfactant.

A positive electrode active material having a crystal structure that is unlikely to be broken by repeated charging and discharging is provided. A positive electrode active material with high charge and discharge capacity is provided. One embodiment of the present invention is a positive electrode active material containing lithium, cobalt, nickel, and oxygen; in which a molar ratio of lithium, cobalt, and nickel is lithium: cobalt: nickel=1:1−x: x (0.3<x<0.75); in which the average of a bond distance between cobalt and oxygen and a bond distance between nickel and oxygen is longer than or equal to 1.94×10.sup.−10 m and shorter than or equal to 2.1×10.sup.−10 m in a crystal structure of the positive electrode active material; and in which the average of an angle formed between a line connecting cobalt to an adjacent oxygen and a line connecting cobalt to another adjacent oxygen and an angle formed between a line connecting nickel to an adjacent oxygen and a line connecting nickel to another adjacent oxygen is greater than or equal to 86.5° and less than 90°.

A lithium transition metal oxide electrode including an additional metal is provided herein as well electrochemical cells including the lithium transition metal oxide electrode and methods of making the lithium transition metal oxide electrode. The lithium transition metal oxide electrode includes a first electroactive material including Li.sub.1+aNi.sub.bMn.sub.cM.sub.dO.sub.2, where 0.05≤a≤0.6; 0.01≤b≤0.5; 0.1≤c≤0.9; zero (0)≤d≤0.3; b+c+d=1 or a+b+c+d=1; and M represents an additional metal, such as W, Mo, V, Zr, Nb, Ta, Fe, Al, Mg, Si, or a combination thereof.

Provided are semiconductor particles including a Group 12-16 semiconductor including a Group 12 element and a Group 16 element, a Group 13-15 semiconductor including a Group 13 element and a Group 15 element, or a Group 14 semiconductor including a Group 14 element, the semiconductor particles having a plasma frequency of 1.7×10.sup.14 rad/s to 4.7×10.sup.14 rad/s and a maximum length of 1 nm to 2,000 nm; and a dispersion, a film, an optical filter, a building member, or a radiant cooling device, in all of which the semiconductor particles are used.
Gas treatment method and materials
A method is disclosed in which a gas of hydrogen and nitrogen, or hydrogen and ammonia, or hydrogen, nitrogen, and ammonia, is introduced to a fluidized bed. The gas flows through the fluidized bed, and titanium dioxide particles are introduced to the fluidized bed to form a fluid mixture of the particles and gas in the fluidized bed. The particles are reacted with the gas in the fluid mixture to form particles including titanium dioxide and nitrogen. The particles can be disposed along an air flow path in operative communication with a light source for air treatment.
Ozone-mediated synthesis of nanostructures
A method of producing ceria nanocrystals is provided. The method includes providing a gas that includes ozone to a solution that includes a cerium salt, and obtaining ceria nanocrystals from the solution after the gas is provided to the first solution. A method of producing nanoparticles is provided. The method includes providing a gas that includes ozone to a solution that includes a metal salt that includes at least one of a transition metal or a lanthanide, and producing at least one of metal oxide nanoparticles, metal oxynitrate nanoparticles, or metal oxyhydroxide nanoparticles from the solution after the gas is provided to the solution.

COBALT-FREE POSITIVE ELECTRODE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERY, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR, AND LITHIUM ION BATTERY
Provided are a cobalt-free positive electrode material for a lithium ion battery, a preparation method therefor and a lithium ion battery. The method for preparing the cobalt-free positive electrode material for the lithium ion battery comprises: mixing lithium nickel manganese oxide with sulfate, so as to obtain a first mixture; and reacting the first mixture at a predetermined temperature, so as to obtain the cobalt-free positive electrode material. The cobalt-free positive electrode material comprises lithium nickel manganese oxide and a cladding layer of an outer surface thereof, and the cladding layer comprises lithium sulphate. The lithium ion battery comprises the cobalt-free positive electrode material. The cobalt-free positive electrode material has a relatively high electrical performance and a relatively low alkali content.
