NOVEL ZEOLITE
An object of the present invention is to provide an AFX zeolite having a novel structure. An AFX zeolite having a lattice spacing d of a (004) plane being not less than 4.84 Å and not greater than 5.00 Å, and a molar ratio of silica to alumina being not less than 10 and not higher than 32. Such an AFX zeolite can be produced by a production method comprising a crystallization step of crystallizing a composition at a temperature of not lower than 160° C.; the composition containing a silicon source, an aluminum source, a 1,3-di(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cation, and an alkali metal; a molar ratio of hydroxide ions to silica being less than 0.25 or a molar ratio of silica to alumina being not higher than 27; and a molar ratio of the 1,3-di(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cation to silica being less than 0.20.
Magnetic transducers
Embodiments herein relate to the production of biocompatible magnetic nanoparticles with a high SAR-value which produce a large amount of heat when exposed to an alternating magnetic field. The produced heat can be used among others for therapeutic purposes, in particular for combating cancer.
Morphologically and size uniform monodisperse particles and their shape-directed self-assembly
Monodisperse particles having: a single pure crystalline phase of a rare earth-containing lattice, a uniform three-dimensional size, and a uniform polyhedral morphology are disclosed. Due to their uniform size and shape, the monodisperse particles self assemble into superlattices. The particles may be luminescent particles such as down-converting phosphor particles and up-converting phosphors. The monodisperse particles of the invention have a rare earth-containing lattice which in one embodiment may be an yttrium-containing lattice or in another may be a lanthanide-containing lattice. The monodisperse particles may have different optical properties based on their composition, their size, and/or their morphology (or shape). Also disclosed is a combination of at least two types of monodisperse particles, where each type is a plurality of monodisperse particles having a single pure crystalline phase of a rare earth-containing lattice, a uniform three-dimensional size, and a uniform polyhedral morphology; and where the types of monodisperse particles differ from one another by composition, by size, or by morphology. In a preferred embodiment, the types of monodisperse particles have the same composition but different morphologies. Methods of making and methods of using the monodisperse particles are disclosed.
MULTIPLEXED SPECTRAL LIFETIME DETECTION OF PHOSPHORS
New methods and assays for multiplexed detection of analytes using phosphors that are uniform in morphology, size, and composition based on their unique optical lifetime signatures are described herein. The described assays and methods can be used for imaging or detection of multiple unique chemical or biological markers simultaneously in a single assay readout.
METHODS OF PRODUCING FUNCTIONALIZED POWDER PARTICLES
The present disclosure provides functionalized powder particles and methods of forming functionalized powder particles. The functionalization is acquired through the formation of primary and/or secondary structures on a powder particle. Functionalization can be controlled to bring about changes in a broad range of physical and/or chemical properties.
Core shell particle, method of producing core shell particle, and film
Provided are a core shell particle including a core which contains a Group III element and a Group V element, and a shell which covers at least a part of a surface of the core and contains a Group II element and a Group VI element, in which the core shell particle has a tetrahedral shape having one side with a length of 6 nm or greater; a method of producing the core shell particle; and a film formed of the core shell particle.
Method for Producing Silicoaluminophosphate Sorbent
The invention relates to a method for synthesizing silicoaluminophosphate sorbents such as SAPO-56 and SAPO-47 comprising the use of a specific structure directing agent (SDA) comprising a mixture of different types of amines The structure providing agent (SDA) comprises N,N,N,N-tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine (TMHD) and a co-structure providing agent (co-SDA) selected among primary, secondary and tertiary amines comprising up to 15 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof. A preferred SDA comprises isopropylamine, dibutylamine and tripropylamine The sorbents are particularly suitable for up-grading biogas such as separating carbon dioxide from methane.
Template-Assisted Synthesis of 2D Nanosheets Using Nanoparticle Templates
A template-assisted method for the synthesis of 2D nanosheets comprises growing a 2D material on the surface of a nanoparticle substrate that acts as a template for nanosheet growth. The 2D nanosheets may then be released from the template surface, e.g. via chemical intercalation and exfoliation, purified, and the templates may be reused.
