Systems and methods for stormwater management

A fluid management system including an inlet configured to receive pre-processed fluid is provided. The system includes a filtering apparatus configured to remove contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The filtering apparatus includes a plate having a first opening. A first manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations and a second opening at least partially aligned with the first opening. A second manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations. Filter media is disposed between the first manifold pipe and the second manifold pipe and is configured to separate the contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The system also includes an outlet coupled to the second manifold pipe to receive processed fluid from the filtering apparatus.

Water purification systems including an inlet chamber, a purification module, a purified water outlet, and an impure water outlet. The inlet chamber is configured to receive an input water stream. The purification module includes a purification chamber configured to divide the input water stream into a purified water stream fluidly coupled to the purified water outlet and an impure water stream fluidly coupled to the impure water outlet. The purification chamber includes a first hydrophilic surface and a second hydrophilic surface spaced from the first hydrophilic surface. The first hydrophilic surface and the second hydrophilic surface cooperate to establish purified zones of substantially pure water and an impure zone of impurity concentrated water from the input water stream. The purified water stream is supplied by substantially pure water from the purified zones and the impure water stream is supplied by the impurity concentrated water from the impure zone.

ACTIVE ICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

In one embodiment, an ice management system is provided for removing an amount of oil from a surface of a body of water. The ice management system includes an ice frame having an ice fence coupled with an ice cage, an oil skimmer device disposed within the ice frame, and an ice deflection assembly coupled with the ice frame. The ice deflection assembly includes an auger coupled with a motor. The auger includes a drum and a deflection mechanism, and the motor is configured to rotate the auger. The deflection mechanism includes a spiral flight or a series of tabs arranged in a corkscrew pattern about the drum. The ice fence includes a plurality of curved vanes. The curved vanes have a bent rectangular plate shape.

NANO-REACTOR SYSTEM FOR DECOMPOSITION OF PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES

A reactor system for decomposing at least one of a per- or polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) is provided. The system includes a material having an interior surface that defines a compartment; a subaqueous liquid in the compartment; and an electron donor in the subaqueous liquid, the electron donor configured to release a hydrated electron upon ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The reactor system is configured so that when the electron donor releases a hydrated electron into the subaqueous liquid, the hydrated electron has a longer lifespan relative to an electron released in normal bulk phase water, and when a PFAS is present within the subaqueous liquid, the hydrated electron is capable of reductively defluorinating the PFAS and to generate fluoride ions (F). A method of operating the system to decompose PFAS is also provided.

In some embodiments, a device for use in a brine tank can include a shell that defines an interior volume and configured to displace granular salt from the interior volume when the granular salt is present in the brine tank. The shell can be further configured to allow liquid to pass therethrough while preventing the granular salt from entering the interior volume. In some embodiments, the shell can be mated with a tube such that during transfer of the liquid to and from the brine tank through an opening of the tube, the opening of the tube is positioned within the interior volume.

Waste water is remanufactured with ozone in a series of mixing vessels. The ozone is dispersed to both a top and a bottom portion of each mixing vessel, but in different amounts. This creates an electrical potential difference across the height of each mixing vessel which significantly improves the oxidation of organic carbon-based impurities and eliminates H.sub.2S and bacteria. Sludge and solids floating to the top of each mixing vessels are removed, as well as sludge and solids settling to the bottom of the mixing vessels. When oil and gas well waste water is treated in this manner, the resulting treated water is purified and has a high salt content suitable for oil or gas well injection.

The present invention relates to a water purification housing capable of purifying water and a rainwater purification system using the same. The water purification housing according to the present invention comprises a means that can filter treated water by filling filter media in a housing body and then passing the treated water through the filter media and a mean that can remove residue caught in the filter media as a result of the use of the filter media by collecting the residue in a sediment discharge container positioned at a bottom portion of the housing body. The rainwater purification system according to the present invention comprises a means that connects and installs several water purification housings and an additional filtration means including fiber filter and UV lamp which can filter materials that cannot be filtered only by the filter media at the end thereof.
