A process for treating effluent streams in a renewable transportation fuel production process is described. One or more of the sour water stream and an acid gas stream are treated directly in thermal oxidation section. The process allows the elimination or size reduction of a sour water stripper unit, waste water treatment plant, and sulfur recovery unit.

Enhanced reduction bioremediation method using in-situ alcoholysis
11577231 · 2023-02-14 · ·

The present subject matter relates to a composition for in-situ remediation of soil and aquifer comprising of a water miscible oil; a solvent (for dissolving the vegetable oil to form a solution); and a catalyst (selected from enzymes biocatalysts, particularly lipases, alkaline compounds, heat or combinations thereof). The present subject matter provides a process for the preparation of the composition and application of the same for surface remediation. Further, the present subject matter provides an in-situ alcoholysis remediation method to reduce contaminant concentrations in aquifer and soil by enabling the generation of both soluble and slowly fermenting electron donors required for the anaerobic remediation of organohalide compounds contaminating soils and groundwater. The method of remediation includes mixing an engineered water-soluble oil or water miscible oil with a solvent and adding a catalyst to groundwater to promote the formation of fatty acid alkyl esters, carboxylic acid salts and glycerol.

Continuous Production of Clathrate Hydrates From Aqueous and Hydrate-Forming Streams, Methods and Uses Thereof

The present disclosure relates to a novel improved method for continuous crystallization of highly crystalline clathrate hydrates. The novel improved method utilizes a novel hydrator capable of overcoming heat and mass transfer limitations that usually constrain crystallization rate and thus reduces process productivity. The disclosed method and hydrator are for production of crystalline clathrates in general, CO.sub.2 capture, capture of other clathrate forming compounds, CO.sub.2 storage and transportation, storage and transportation of any clathrate forming compound in a solid lattice, gas separation or water desalination or purification purposes.

GREYWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

A system and method for removing contaminates from greywater that uses carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) and a system that adjusts the pH between 6 and 9. The filtration system is cost effective, quick, and easy to use, resulting in purified water.

Destruction of PFAS Via an Oxidation Process and Apparatus Suitable for Transportation to Contaminated Sites

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are destroyed by oxidation in supercritical conditions. PFAS in water can be concentrated and prepared for destruction in a pretreatment phase. Following annihilation of the PFAS in supercritical conditions to levels below 5 parts per trillion (ppt), the water effluent can be used to recover heat, returned to sub-critical conditions, and then released back into the environment.

A diffuser is disclosed and claimed that can be used in multiple applications, which will sink and operate in the location where it is desired and has the ability to be maneuvered around obstacles. According to one aspect of the invention, a device for aeration of septic tanks is provided. In at least one example, the device comprises: a system of articulating gas-transporting joints; a plurality of porous sections; a bifurcating joint connecting said system of articulating joints to said porous sections; a plurality of weights; and a plate connected to said weights, said bifurcating joint, and said porous sections.

Method for reducing formation of CaSO4 and Fe2O3 containing deposits in a pressure oxidation autoclave and/or adjacent circuits during pressure oxidation of gold-containing ore

Formation of CaSO.sub.4 and Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 containing deposits is reduced in a pressure oxidation autoclave and/or adjacent circuits during pressure oxidation of gold-containing ore. The gold-containing ore is combined with water to create an aqueous slurry that is heated and introduced into the autoclave. The method includes providing a scale inhibitor that is free of an organic polymer and includes an inorganic phosphate according to formula (I), (XPO.sub.3).sub.m, wherein X is Na, K, H, or combinations thereof, and m is at least about 6, an inorganic phosphate according to formula (II), Y.sub.n+2P.sub.nO.sub.3n+1, wherein Y is Na, K, H, an organic phosphonate; or combinations thereof, and n is at least about 6. The method includes the step of combining the scale inhibitor and at least one of the gold-containing ore, the water, and the aqueous slurry to reduce scale.
