COMPOSITION FOR pH CONTROL
A composition for treating swimming pool water comprises sodium bisulphate and aluminium sulphate. The aluminium sulphate in the composition minimizes the precipitation of sodium bisulphate at temperatures lower than about 5 degrees Celsius for a time period to maintain a concentrated form of acid to control the pH level of the water. In some embodiments, the composition includes 30 to 40% sodium bisulphate (NaHSO4) wt/wt %, 0.2% to 5% aluminium sulphate Al2(SO4)3 wt/wt %, 0.1% to 1% copper sulphate/chelating agent wt/wt %, 0.01% to 0.02% sodium hydroxide, and balance water.
Method for extending time of activity of chlorite-based biocides
This invention relates to the use of chlorite-based antimicrobials in a manner where the time of biocidal activity is extended for the microbial control in the water used for drilling, completion and remediation of wells. The invention involves mixing of a compatible extender in the form of sodium chlorate with sodium chlorite to form an antimicrobial formulation. This combination is used with an acid on the site to generate chlorine dioxide which is injected into the water used for hydraulic fracturing or remedial workover. The formulation is a much more effective bactericide for the subterranean oil and gas rich formations. The potency and longevity of biocidal activity is controlled by varying the ratios of chlorate and acid which provide different profiles of the antimicrobial activities.

METHOD FOR MINIMIZING FOULING, CORROSION, AND SOLVENT DEGRADATION IN LOW-TEMPERATURE REFINERY AND NATURAL GAS PROCESSES
A method of oxygen scavenging, the method (i) providing an oxygen scavenger composition; and (ii) adding the oxygen scavenger composition to an aqueous feed and/or a hydrocarbon feed of a hydrocarbon processing system.
Fluorescent water treatment compounds and method of use
Disclosed herein are graphene quantum dot tagged water source treatment compounds or polymers, and methods of making and using. Also described herein are tagged compositions including an industrial water source treatment compound or polymer combined with a graphene quantum dot tagged water source treatment compound or polymer. The tagged materials are tailored to fluoresce at wavelengths with minimized correspondence to the natural or “background” fluorescence of irradiated materials in industrial water sources, enabling quantification of the concentration of the water source treatment compound or polymer in situ by irradiation and fluorescence measurement of the water source containing the tagged water source treatment compound or polymer. The fluorescence measurement methods are similarly useful to quantify mixtures of tagged and untagged water source treatment compounds or polymers present in an industrial water source.
CARTRIDGE FOR TREATING DRINKING WATER, AND METHOD FOR ENRICHING DRINKING WATER WITH SILICON
A cartridge and a method for enriching drinking water with silicon are provided. A cross-linked silicic acid is used, which can be mixed with a cation exchanger that is preferably loaded with hydrogen and/or with alkalizing agents and/or with activated carbon. Silicon can be released into the water via the silicic acid.
Method for treating wastewater and wastewater sludge using a percarboxylic acid
A method for treating a wastewater or a wastewater sludge includes adding performic acid to the wastewater and/or the waster sludge as an odor controlling agent and/or corrosion controlling agent.
CHEMICAL-AGENT DOSING APPARATUS
A chemical-agent dosing apparatus for dosing a heating system with chemical agent. The apparatus comprises a chemical-agent storage chamber which stores a chemical agent and a dosing device which has a dosing chamber and a driving means. The dosing chamber is fluidly connected with the storage chamber and defines a dosing volume for receiving a dose of chemical agent. The driving means drives fluid from the dosing chamber via the dose outlet.
WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A water treatment system is provided. The system includes a container holding a reactant liquid within the container. The system further includes an electrode capsule removably retained within the container and submerged in the reactant liquid. The electrode capsule operates to generate reactant gas by operating within the reactant liquid. The system includes a cap releasably coupled to an opening of the container. The cap includes a nozzle that allows flow of reactant gas out of the container to treat an amount of water. The use of the system operates to treat water for particular applications and controlling pH level range and/or alkalinity for each particular application.
Polyamide Composition
Disclosed herein are polyamide compositions having decreased release of substances in warm water and increased resistance to oxidizing agents and which therefore are suitable for warm water applications, in particular for warm drinking water applications.
