Systems and devices for treating and monitoring water, wastewater and other biodegradable matter
The invention relates to bio-electrochemical systems for the generation of methane from organic material and for reducing chemical oxygen demand and nitrogenous waste through denitrification. The invention further relates to an electrode for use in, and a system for, the adaptive control of bio-electrochemical systems as well as a fuel cell.
MANAGED ECOSYSTEM UTILIZING PRODUCED WATER FROM OIL AND/OR GAS RECOVERY OPERATIONS AND METHOD FOR SEQUESTERING CARBON DIOXIDE USING SAME
Managed ecosystems, methods for producing managed ecosystems and methods for using managed ecosystems for sequestering carbon dioxide are described herein. Produced water is obtained and purified to sustain a managed ecosystem with saline-tolerant vegetation. The managed ecosystem biologically sequesters carbon dioxide by photosynthetically absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and by decomposition into a layer of sediment on the ecosystem floor.
WASTEWATER LEACHING SYSTEM
Methods, apparatus, and systems involving wastewater treatment systems are provided. Plastic grids, with first and second legs are provided. These first and second legs have distal ends separated from each other. Flat pipes are also provided for wastewater treatment systems.
Soil Absorption System (SAS)
A Soil Absorption System SAS can include at least two elongate water dispersion trenches, channels or slots cut or formed into a surface or the ground, and filled with dispersal media, which can include stone. Each trench can be about 1-6 inches wide, about 4-48 inches deep, and laterally spaced a minimum of about 3-24 inches or about 3-12 inches apart from each other. This arrangement can provide increased lateral water dispersion surface area relative to lateral trench direction.
Method for directly and deeply purifying high concentration organic wastewater
A method for directly and deeply purifying high concentration organic wastewater, specifically includes the following steps of: (1) fortified precipitation treatment; (2) rapid filtration of sediment of suspended solids; (3) pH value adjustment; (4) hydrolysis acidification where pH value adjusted waste water enters a water distribution unit in which a biological hanging film filter is arranged to fortify an anaerobic hydrolysis acidification function of the waste water; and (5) bio-filter treatment. A rapid and low cost treatment method for high concentration, high ammonia and high nitrogen organic waste water is provided by means of water and air distribution by the biological filtering bed, an air-water backwashing bed layer structure, setting of a temperature regulation system for the biological filtering bed, and a combined process of the biological filtering bed with a fortified sedimentation unit, a suspension object sediment rapid filtration unit, and like unit structures.
Systems and methods for stormwater management
A fluid management system including an inlet configured to receive pre-processed fluid is provided. The system includes a filtering apparatus configured to remove contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The filtering apparatus includes a plate having a first opening. A first manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations and a second opening at least partially aligned with the first opening. A second manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations. Filter media is disposed between the first manifold pipe and the second manifold pipe and is configured to separate the contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The system also includes an outlet coupled to the second manifold pipe to receive processed fluid from the filtering apparatus.
REMEDIATION OF PER- AND POLY-FLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES IN WASTEWATER
A method for remediating wastewater formed by water and per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) using a wastewater treatment system that includes a collecting unit, a dewatering unit, a drying unit, and a baking unit. Wastewater provided to the collecting unit is dosed by adding a compound to the wastewater in an amount that is sufficient to cause the PFAS to separate from the water and to form a sludge. The sludge is dewatered with the dewatering from a first dryness level a second dryness level. The dewatered sludge is then dried in the drying unit from the first dryness level to a third dryness level. The dried sludge is then baked at a sufficiently high enough temperature that chemical bonds of at least a portion of the PFAS is destroyed.
Bio-trickling filter box device capable of purifying organic wastewater and generating electricity
A bio-trickling filter box device capable of purifying organic wastewater and generating electricity is provided, which includes battery component(s) and a bio-trickling filter box component. The battery component(s) is provided in the bio-trickling filter box. The other end of each of trickling filter tube(s) is connected with a water tank. A water pump operates to make water flow through the trickling filter tube(s), pass through leakage holes and trickling holes, and drip into the battery component(s) in a water-drop manner, so as to supply an electric apparatus component with power. The bio-trickling filter box component(s) and the battery component(s) are combined, and the long-term impingement of water droplets on the battery component(s) can accumulate electric charge and generate the electricity. so as to provide power required by the electric apparatus component, which forms a biological treatment system that generates the power while treating the wastewater.

Inline bioremediation liquid treatment system
A liquid treatment system is provided having a vault that contains a treatment chamber and an outflow chamber. The treatment chamber may have a filtration media layer containing media that treats liquid as it descends through the filtration media layer, where it will accumulate in a porous layer or open space. The liquid will then be directed through the plurality of pipes to the outflow chamber, where the treated liquid is further directed to outside the system. Accumulated debris settled at the bottom of the treatment chamber may be flushed out by a spray bar.
