The media wheel is configured for rotation by air directed from an air diffuser to impinge on the vanes such that when said media wheel is partly immersed in water rotation of the media wheel alternately exposes algae growing on the plurality of vanes to sunlight and to the water. A frame is connected to an axle of the media wheel. Only one of the media wheel and the frame is constructed with a buoyancy sufficient to support the media wheel partly immersed in water during rotation of the media wheel.

The reactor is divided into two or more compartments by one or more screens. Each compartment is in fluid communication with the ventilation means, and comprises a biofilm on one or more surfaces. The reactor is configured to expose at least a portion of the waste water to the biofilm in the presence of air supplied by the ventilation means.

PACKED ROTATING BIOLOGICAL CONTACTOR AND METHOD FOR AMMONIA NITROGEN CONVERSION BASED ON THE PACKED ROTATING BIOLOGICAL CONTACTOR

The present disclosure provides a packed rotating biological contactor and a method for ammonia nitrogen conversion based on the packed rotating biological contactor. The packing frame of the packed rotating biological contactor provided in the present disclosure is formed by engaging two meshed disks, the hollow structure thus formed can be filled with packings, increasing the tilling amount of the packings; the selection of packing types can improve the film-forming rate of microorganism and shows a good adsoiption effect on the microorganism, so that the biofilm formed on the surface of packings can resist the impact of water flow and avoid shedding. The selection of disk meshes and packing types also increases the specific surthce area of the packed rotating biological contactor, which can improve the acclimation efficiency of microorganisms and enable the packed rotating biological contactor to carry more microorganisms, thus forming biofilms with excellent performance.

A development improves values such as energy consumption, noise, etc., besides, increasing the efficiency of a purification module used during a purification of waste water. A patterned disc enables biological activity to be carried out in a larger area by way of a high surface area. Besides this, three guiding channels located on the disc, which pass through the centre and which are used to realize a renewal of a biofilm layer when the live biofilm layer needs to be renewed, are improved. Components that can prevent interruptions in tie rods that might occur, and breakages and a folding of a main return shaft, are developed.

Mobile station for diagnosing and modeling site specific effluent treatment facility requirements

A mobile station and methods are disclosed for diagnosing and modeling site specific effluent treatment facility requirements to arrive at a treatment regimen and/or proposed commercial plant model idealized for the particular water/site requirements. The station includes a mobile platform having power intake, effluent intake and fluid outflow facilities and first and second suites of selectably actuatable effluent pre-treatment apparatus. An effluent polishing treatment array is housed at the station and includes at least one of nanofiltration, reverse osmosis and ion-exchange stages. A suite of selectively actuatable post-treatment apparatus is housed at the station. Controls are connected at the station for process control, monitoring and data accumulation. A plurality of improved water treatment technologies is also disclosed. The modeling methods include steps for analyzing raw effluent to be treated, providing a field of raw effluent condition entry values and a field of treated effluent condition goals entry values, and utilizing said fields to determine an initial treatment model including a selection of, and use parameters for, treatment technologies from the plurality of down-scaled treatment technologies at the facility, the model dynamically and continuously modifiable during treatment modeling.

Combined bioreactor for the treatment of waste water, by means of anaerobic, aerobic and anoxic processes of degradation of organic matter with zone separator system and collection of biogases, scum and sludge
09758411 · 2017-09-12 ·

A bioreactor for anaerobic, aerobic and anoxic digestion of organic matter from wastewater, having a bottom anaerobic zone where the wastewater is fed where anaerobic bacteria produces biogas and the sludge produced is deposited on the bottom and subsequently extracted. An anoxic middle zone contains denitrifying bacteria which converts nitrates to nitrogen, and an aerobic zone at the upper part where at least one biological contact rotor is disposed, which degrade organic matter remaining in the water. The growth of nitrifying bacteria converts ammonia nitrogen into nitrites and nitrates. The tank has a plurality of rhomboids for biogas, sludge and scum collection that join together form a intermediate polyhedral separator panel. The rhomboids joined together define conical collectors with connecting nozzles of ducts from a capture and conduction network of biogas and funnel-shaped manifolds with connecting nozzles of ducts that define a capture and conduction network of sludge and scum.
