Simultaneous nitrification/denitrification (SNDN) in sequencing batch reactor applications

A method of operating a sequencing batch reactor process includes introducing wastewater to be treated into the sequencing batch reactor and subjecting the wastewater to treatment in the sequencing batch reactor in an aerated anoxic mode in which a quantity of oxygen is supplied at a level insufficient to meet a biological oxygen demand of the wastewater, but sufficient to cause simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reactions to occur in the wastewater.

TOTAL NITROGEN REMOVAL DEVICE FOR SEWAGE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

A total nitrogen (TN) removal device for sewage and its operation method. The TN removal device includes a denitrification tank, a supplementary reaction zone filled with aerobic granular sludge and a sedimentation and separation zone. The supplementary reaction zone and the sedimentation and separation zone are arranged inside the denitrification tank, and communicated through a three-phase separator. The sedimentation and separation zone is located above the supplementary reaction zone. A top of the sedimentation and separation zone is greater than its bottom. A membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR) assembly is arranged in a space formed by outer walls of the sedimentation and separation zone and supplementary reaction zone and an inner chamber of the denitrification tank. A side wall of the denitrification tank is provided with a chemical oxygen demand (COD) detector and a nitrate nitrogen detector.

Systems of gas infusion for wastewater treatment

This application relates to a system of treating wastewater wherein an oxygen infusion system is used to supersaturate wastewater before aerobic biological processes, wherein oxygen is transferred to the wastewater free of oxygen bubbles and achieves a reduction in power demand for the aeration process of wastewater.

A multistage greywater treatment system including at least one separation stage, at least one solid removal stage, and at least one disinfection stage. The at least one separation stage is configured to separate water from one or more water draining device into at least three outputs including a first intermediate greywater. The at least one solid removal stage is configured to receive the first intermediate greywater and dissolve solids from the first intermediate greywater to output a second intermediate greywater. The at least one disinfection stage is configured to receive the second intermediate greywater. The resultant greywater may be provided to at least one recycled water consuming device after passing through the at least one separation stage, at least one solid removal stage, and the at least one disinfection stage.

Process for water treatment using membrane biofilm reactor

An apparatus has a plurality of gas transfer membranes. The apparatus floats in water with the membranes submerged in the water. To treat the water, a gas is supplied to the membranes and is transferred to a biofilm supported on the membranes or to the water. Gas is also used to supply mixing or membrane scouring bubbles to the water. The mixing or scouring bubbles can be provided by a cyclic aeration or other gas supply system, which optionally provides gas at a variable pressure to the membranes in parallel or series with an aerator. Condensates can be removed from the membranes, and exhaust gasses from the membranes can be monitored, optionally through one or more dedicated pipes.

A method for introducing a gas into a liquid, the method including filling a gas volume enclosed below a free surface of the liquid and defined in a downward direction by an enclosed level of the liquid with the gas in sequential pulses wherein the gas simultaneously displaces the liquid top down from a gas lifting channel until the enclosed level of the liquid drops below an inlet cross section of a gas flow out channel; subsequently flowing the gas out of the gas volume downward through the gas lifting channel, a deflection portion adjoining at a bottom of the gas lifting channel, in upward direction through the inlet cross section and through the gas flow out channel adjoining the inlet cross section at a top to the free surface.
