SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF SEWAGE
A sewage treatment apparatus is provided for reducing nitrogen content in sewage fluid (e.g., after primary treatment). The apparatus uses vegetation to process the sewage fluid and reduce ammonia and organic nitrogen in the processed sewage fluid by uptake of the ammonia and organic nitrogen into the vegetation and by converting the residual ammonia and organic nitrogen into nitrites and nitrates. The apparatus also uses a feedback loop to combine the processed sewage fluid and the raw sewage fluid, such that nitrites and nitrates in the processed sewage fluid are reduced by interacting with carbonaceous waste in the raw sewage fluid.

Method for high efficiency biological phosphorus and nitrogen removal in a sequencing batch reactor activated sludge process
A wastewater treatment method applicable to new or existing enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) treatment process designs which utilize the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) process activated sludge process treatment tanks. The method improves the performance and efficiency in the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater to remove phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N). The method includes ceasing reaction cycles when a derivative of rate of change of the input flow volume of the air stream into the tank needed to maintain a low-range of dissolved oxygen (DO), in which an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) setpoint reaches a derivative value indicating that conversion of the ammonia nitrogen in the influent wastewater content to a nitrite or to a nitrate is complete.
INTERNAL SULFUR CYCLING SANI (ISC-SANI) PROCESS FOR BIOLOGICAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT
A method of removing organic carbon in biological wastewater treatment includes the steps of: (a) oxidizing organic carbon to carbon dioxide with elemental sulfur as an electron carrier, and reducing the elemental sulfur to sulfide; (b) oxidizing the sulfide to elemental sulfur by recycled nitrate through controlling one or more of a recycling ratio to maintain an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) within the range of −360 my to −420 mv, using an auto ORP controller; (c) recycling the elemental sulfur formed during oxidation of the sulfide back to the oxidation of the organic carbon; and (d) oxidizing ammonium to nitrate then partially recycled back for sulfide oxidation.
Pretreatment of produced water to facilitate improved metal extraction
A water treatment system that removes calcium and magnesium using coagulants and pH controls, aqueous phase organic materials from water using a biological removal system that includes microorganisms and a physical separation system that includes sparging equipment for sparging the water to remove non-aqueous phase liquid organic materials, volatile phase organic materials. An apparatus, system and method for pretreating oilfield produced water to completely remove or significantly reduce concentrations of substances that are known to interfere with downstream recovery of metals including lithium. This technology facilitates a more efficient and cost-effective extraction method from alternate sources to meet the increasing global demand.
METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER, AND ACTIVATOR FOR TREATING WASTEWATER
A method for treating wastewater and an activator for treating wastewater that maximizes the utilization of microorganisms such as Bacillus bacteria in an activated sludge treatment of wastewater while minimizing treatment cost. In the method for treating wastewater, wastewater including organic matter is introduced into a treatment tank and the wastewater is subjected to an activated sludge treatment by microorganisms in the treatment tank, wherein an activator containing a component for activating the microorganisms is added to the wastewater to be subjected to the activated sludge treatment in the treatment tank; and at least 50% (by quantity) of the entirety of the activator has a particle size of less than 10 pm. Also provided is an activator therefor. The microorganisms preferably include Bacillus bacteria.
Activated sludge treatment method, and method for upgrading existing waste water treatment equipment using said method
The object is to provide an activated sludge treatment method whereby production of excess sludge is brought substantially to zero; and a method for upgrading existing waste water treatment equipment, employing this method. The method includes a step (1) in which sludge 1 produced in a bioreactor is supplied to a waste water aeration-conditioning tank for activated sludge treatment; a step (2) in which waste water into which the sludge 1 has been mixed is subjected to aeration-conditioning to bring the oxidation-reduction potential to a positive value, and the conditioning treated waste water 1 supplied to the bioreactor; a step (3) in which released water from the bioreactor is considered to release water.
Vertical sewage treatment device and method
The present invention provides a vertical sewage treatment device including an anaerobic chamber, an anoxic chamber, an aerobiotic chamber, and a secondary precipitation chamber, wherein the anaerobic chamber, the anoxic chamber, the aerobiotic chamber, and the secondary precipitation chamber are vertically arranged in sequence from the bottom to the top. According to another aspect, the present invention also provides a sewage treatment method using the foregoing vertical sewage treatment device. The sewage treatment device and method of the present invention have the advantages such as a reduced occupied area, improved oxygenation efficiency, a decreased head loss, a reduced invalid structure volume, and a low heat loss.
Solid waste digestion system
A system for digesting biodigestible feed that preferably includes the steps of comminuting the feed, introducing feed, an oxygen-containing gas, an accelerant, and bacteria into a digestion zone, the bacteria being suitable for digesting the feed under aerobic, anaerobic, and anoxic conditions. The contents of the digestion zone can be changed from aerobic operation to either anoxic or anaerobic operation, or vice versa, without changing the bacteria in the digestion zone.
