A glass forming individual section machine includes a machine frame having a glass gob loading axis, a traversable blank side, including a blank mold configured to form a glass gob into a parison and having a blank mold vertical axis, and a mold carriage movably carried on the machine frame and coupled to the traversable blank side to linearly translate the traversable blank side toward the glass gob loading axis to align the blank mold vertical axis with the glass gob loading axis and to linearly translate the traversable blank side away from the glass gob loading axis. A related method of loading a blank mold of an individual section machine is also disclosed.

The support block comprises: a single-piece support body formed by a front wall, a rear wall and lateral walls, thus forming a hollow rectangular body; an intermediate wall and a plurality of cross walls located inside the internal periphery of the support body, in a grid arrangement, forming a first plurality of hollow sections aligned along the front wall and a second plurality of hollow sections aligned along the rear wall, each first hollow section and each second hollow section being aligned and disposed one behind the other; a support section for each first hollow section and each second hollow section, each support section being connected near to the bottom part of each of the walls forming each first hollow section and each second hollow section, to support the different mechanisms of the machine for forming glass objects; tubular cavities located in a vertical position for each plurality of cross walls, for inserting lubricating pipes or cables, the tubular cavities being formed between each of the cross walls located inside the periphery of the support body; and aligning means located in a bottom part of the support body, for aligning the support block with respect to a determined installation area.

A mold opening and closing mechanism for a machine for forming glass articles includes at least one mold divided into two halves that open and close to form the articles. The halves of the molds are coupled to a pair of supporting arms, each arm being independently mounted opposite the other and separated in a parallel manner with respect to a support structure. The mechanism includes mold synchronizing means mounted so as to move with the mold support arms and to move inwards or outwards to open and close the molds. The mechanism further includes lever means having a first end connected to the support structure, the lever means and the pair of support arms transmitting to the synchronizing means an articulated inward or outward movement to close or open the molds. The mechanism also includes: drive means coupled to the support structure, for imparting an opening and closing movement to the support arms; a double-linkage closing system connected in an articulated manner to the synchronizing means; and a second end connected to the support structure. The lever means and the pair of support arms transmit an articulated inward or outward movement to the synchronizing means to close or open the molds. The mechanism further includes drive means coupled to the support structure to impart an opening and closing movement to the support arms, and a double-linkage closing system connected in an articulated and independent manner to each of the support arms and to the drive means.

The present invention relates to mold cooling method and system for a glass container forming machine that includes at least one mold holder including mold halves that are movable between a closed mold position for forming the glass article and an open mold position for releasing said article, each of the mold halves having axial passages for cooling each of the mold halves. A support structure having a fixed upper support section and a movable support section. Means for providing a cooling flow are coupled in coincidence with a series of openings in the movable support section. A cooling flow distributor located above the movable support section, the cooling flow distributor having a lower section in coincidence with each of the openings of the movable support section for the passage of the cooling flow and, a upper section in coincidence with each of the axial passages of each of the halves of each mold, the cooling flow distributor being movable between the closed mold position and the open mold position.

A glassware forming machine includes a blank mold having first and second sections and a hanger assembly configured to support the first section and permit movement of the first section towards and away from the second section. A temperature measurement system for the first section includes a thermocouple configured to be received within a recess in a wall of the first section and to generate a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the first section. The system further includes a transmitter assembly coupled to the thermocouple and comprising a housing supported on the hanger assembly and a wireless transmitter and controller disposed within the housing. The controller is configured to receive the temperature signal and generate an output signal in response for transmission by the wireless transmitter, the output signal including data indicative of the temperature of the first section of the blank mold.

A glassware forming machine includes a blank mold having first and second sections and a hanger assembly configured to support the first section and permit movement of the first section towards and away from the second section. A temperature measurement system for the first section includes a thermocouple configured to be received within a recess in a wall of the first section and to generate a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the first section. The system further includes a transmitter assembly coupled to the thermocouple and comprising a housing supported on the hanger assembly and a wireless transmitter and controller disposed within the housing. The controller is configured to receive the temperature signal and generate an output signal in response for transmission by the wireless transmitter, the output signal including data indicative of the temperature of the first section of the blank mold.

The mechanism includes further a fluid cylinder disposed proximate the linkage and including at least one piston rod operatively coupled to the linkage, wherein as the linkage rotates, the piston rod is pulled outward from the cylinder, and the cylinder is dragged outwardly, and whereafter the cylinder is pressurized with fluid to push the piston rod further outward to apply clamping pressure to the linkage.
