Machine for manufacturing a hollow article made of thin glass
A machine is for the manufacture of a hollow glass article that includes at least one thin side wall. The machine includes at least one molten glass parison distributor, a blank mold including a cavity designed to successively receive at least one parison of molten glass, and components that form a blank of the article in the blank mold, transfer the blank into a cavity of the finishing mold, and form the article in the finishing mold. The cavity of the finishing mold includes at least one side part provided with a concave cavity to form, on the side wall of the article, a convex bulge directed towards the exterior of the article. The machine further includes a component that removes the bulge to give the side wall of the article a substantially constant thickness.

Methods and apparatuses for fabricating glass articles
Methods of fabricating formed glass articles are described herein. In one embodiment, a method for fabricating a formed glass article may include forming a glass ribbon, forming a parison, and shaping the parison to form a glass article. The glass article may be attached to the glass ribbon at an attachment region defining an edge of the glass article. The process may also include contacting the attachment region with a focal line of a laser beam and separating the glass article from the glass ribbon at the attachment region. The attachment region may be perforated by the laser beam and the focal line may be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the glass ribbon.

Method and equipment for manufacturing a thin, hollow glass item
The invention relates to a method, comprising: feeding at least one molten-glass parison into a parison mold; forming, in the parison mold, a blank of an item from said at least one parison; transferring the blank of the item into a finishing mold; and forming the item in the finishing mold. While forming the item in the finishing mold, excess glass is directed out of the base of the item so as to form a convex bulge, and said bulge is removed such that the thickness of the base of the item is substantially constant.
