FOAMED GLASS BODY, HEAT INSULATOR USING FOAMED GLASS BODY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FOAMED GLASS BODY
A heat insulator includes a foamed glass body, and a hollow member that stores the foamed glass body in a hollow portion. The foamed glass body is composed of a silicate glass material containing R.sub.2O compounds and RO compounds. In a case that a value A is a weight ratio (%) of the R.sub.2O compounds in terms of oxides to the whole, and a value B is a weight ratio (%) of the RO compounds in terms of oxides to the whole, an absolute value of a value C obtained by an expression of value A−2.08×value B is 5.27 or less, or an absolute value of a value D obtained by an expression of value A−2.68×value B is 3.23 or less.
SILICA GLASS, HIGH FREQUENCY DEVICE USING SILICA GLASS, AND SILICA GLASS PRODUCTION METHOD
The present invention relates to a silica glass including bublles in the number of 1×10.sup.7/cm.sup.3 to 1×10.sup.15/cm.sup.3 and having a density of 0.5 g/cm.sup.3 to 1.95 g/cm.sup.3. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a silica glass, including: a step of depositing SiO.sub.2 fine particles generated by flame hydrolysis of a silicon compound, to obtain a silica glass porous body; a step of heating and sintering the silica glass porous body in an inert gas atmosphere, to obtain a silica glass dense body; and a step of performing a foaming treatment to heat the silica glass dense body under a reduced pressure condition.
COMPOSITION WITH TUNABLE ENERGY ABSORBING PROPERTIES
The present disclosure provides a cellular foam composition, a method for producing and using the same. One particular aspect of the disclosure provides a cellular foam composition comprising a plurality of foam layers, where each foam layer is made from a hollow microstructure material. In particular, the density of the hollow microstructure material in each foam layer is different from the density of the hollow microstructure material that forms the adjacent foam layer. In some embodiments, cellular foam compositions of the disclosure further include an interfacial layer comprising interfacial voids in between adjacent layers.
Method for engineered cellular magmatic mesoporous compounds and articles thereof
Methods for engineered mesoporous cellular magmatics and articles thereof are disclosed. For example, the magmatics may include a mixture of substance that, when exposed to heat for a length of time, form a foamed mass. The foamed mass may be exposed to a solution configured to cause mineralization upon and within the articles.
COATED GLASS OR GLASS CERAMIC SUBSTRATE, COATING COMPRISING CLOSED PORES, AND METHOD FOR COATING A SUBSTRATE
Coated glass or glass ceramic substrates having high temperature resistance, high strength, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The coating includes pores, is fluid-tight and suitable for coating a temperature-resistant, high-strength glass or glass ceramic substrate with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and to a method for producing such a coated substrate.
GYPSUM CEMENT WITH REDUCED PERMEABILITY
A cellular glass insulation system for an outer surface of a structure or pipe. The insulation system includes multiple segments of cellular glass. An adhesive having a reduced permeability is provided at the interface between the individual cellular glass segments and is configured to limit water intrusion that might cause corrosion of the structure or pipe.
Method for recycling solar cell module glass
To provide a method for recycling a solar cell module glass, which enables development of other novel applications of a waste glass of a solar cell module while controlling an elution amount of Sb from the waste glass into water. Disclosed is a method for recycling a solar cell module glass, the method comprising: grinding a solar cell module glass into a glass powder; adding at least one foaming agent selected from SiC, CaCO.sub.3 and a seashell, and a particular inhibitor to the glass powder to produce a mixture; and heating the mixture to 700 to 1,100° C. to produce a foam glass.
FOAMED GLASS COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND A METHOD USING THE SAME
A support structure, including an excavation and a plurality of irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies at least partially filing the excavation. Each respective irregularly shaped foamed glass body has an aspect ratio of about 1:1.7 and a diameter of about 1 inch. The irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies intersect to define stacking angles of at least about 35 degrees. Under compression, the irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies crush and break up before slip failure occurs such that the roadbed has a crushing failure mode.
PISTON FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING SAID PISTON
This piston includes a low thermal conductivity part comprising: a porous member made of a borosilicate glass that has a lower thermal conductivity than the piston base material made of an aluminum alloy material that is the base material impregnated into the porous member. A molded object obtained from a first powder (glass powder) and a second powder (sodium chloride powder) is put in hot water to dissolve away the second powder and form pores in the porous member. The aluminum alloy material is impregnated into these pores to unite the porous member to the piston base material. Furthermore, varnish containing polyimide, etc. is applied to the upper surface of the porous member and impregnated into the pores with a varnish impregnation device assisted by vacuum drawing and atmospheric pressure, thereby preventing the pores from remaining vacant. Due to this, deterioration in exhaust emission performance can be prevented.
