Interpenetrating polymer networks

The invention relates to a film comprising an interpenetrating network, its uses and processes for making the same. The film produced displays good durability, chemical resistance and transparency. The film is produced from an interpenetrating network formed as a colloidal suspension in an organic solvent and a particulate solid.

An insulating product includes mineral fibers of aluminosilicate glass including aluminum oxide, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, in a fraction by weight of between 14% and 28%, that are sized with a sizing composition including the following constituents within the limits defined below, expressed as fractions by weight with respect to the total weight of the composition: from 80% to 98% of water, from 2% to 20% of water-soluble poly(furfuryl alcohol), which is obtained by polycondensation of furfuryl alcohol, and less than 0.5% of furfuryl alcohol, wherein a sum of the fractions by weight of the poly (furfuryl alcohol) and of the water is at least 95%, and wherein the sizing composition applied to the mineral fibres has a pH in a range from 5 to 8.

A glass member for a housing of an electronic device may include an aluminosilicate glass substrate defining a first surface of the glass member, the first surface having a first surface roughness, a fused composite coating bonded to a portion of the aluminosilicate glass substrate and defining a second surface of the glass member, the second surface having a second surface roughness greater than the first surface roughness, a first ion-exchanged layer extending into the glass member and through the fused composite coating, and a second ion-exchanged layer extending into the glass member from the first surface. The fused composite coating may include an amorphous glass matrix and a crystalline material dispersed in the amorphous glass matrix.

The drier section includes a warm air blower, the catalyst section includes a photocatalyst tank, and the spray section includes a plurality of jet extensions. A first jet extension connected to the photocatalyst tank sprays a uniform layer of a photocatalyst through a first set of jets, and a second jet extension that is mechanically connected to the drier section and in fluid communication with the warm air blower is configured to spray a gas onto an inner surface of the glass tube with a second set of jets. Both the drier section and the catalyst section are mounted on wheels to move the system on the inner surface of the glass tube. A motor is electrically connected to a battery mounted within the robot and mounted to the wheels.
