Each of the first film and the second film includes mainly tin oxide and has a sheet resistance value of 20 Ω/□ or less. When film thicknesses of the first and second films are θ.sub.1 nm and θ.sub.2 nm respectively, and when, in the glass plate, a haze value measured from the first surface side for a configuration provided with the first film only is H.sub.1 (%), and a haze value measured from the second surface side for a configuration provided with the second film only is H.sub.2 (%), a value of θ.sub.1 divided by H.sub.1 is 500 or more but 1200 or less, and a value of θ.sub.2 divided by H.sub.2 is 300 or more but 750 or less.

The glass layer and other glass structures in the electronic device may be provided with coatings. An interior coating on a glass layer may include multiple layers of material such as an adhesion promotion layer, thin-film layers of materials such as silicon, niobium oxide and other metal oxides, and metals to help adjust the appearance of the coating. A metal layer may be formed on top of the coating to serve as an environmental protection layer and opacity enhancement layer. In some configurations, the coating may include four layers.

The glazing or color backing may be white, silver, or gray, depending on the application. A magnetic attachment may be provided for attaching the palette to a sketchbook or watercolor book for hands-free use. Molded or magnetic paint pans may be provided in the closable portable painting palette.

A low-reflection coated glass sheet of the present invention includes a glass sheet and a low-reflection coating formed on at least a portion of a principal surface of the glass sheet. The low-reflection coating contains 60 mass % to 100 mass % of a silica material having a continuous structure. The low-reflection coated glass sheet of the present invention maintains a large transmittance gain even when scraping against foreign matters.

The invention relates to a glass substrate for chemical strengthening where a surface is coated by magnetron sputtering with a temporary thin film that reduces the extent of ion exchange upon chemical strengthening and where the temporary thin film can be removed after the chemical strengthening by treatment with an etchant solution. Other embodiments relate to a method for making a chemically strengthened glass substrate with controlled curvature comprising: providing a substrate with opposed surfaces that are durable to a given etchant solution, forming a temporary thin film upon at least part of a surface of the glass substrate, chemically strengthening the glass substrate bearing the temporary thin film, and removing the temporary thin film after said chemical strengthening with said etchant solution. The thickness of the temporary thin film is chosen such that a controlled curvature is obtained upon chemical strengthening.
