Germanosilicate glasses containing zinc oxide
A glass composition comprises a germanosilicate glass containing 5-35 mol % ZnO. The glass composition has a relatively high refractive index, good glass-forming ability, and UV-shielding properties.
GLASS HAVING HIGH UV TRANSMITTANCE AND HIGH SOLARIZATION RESISTANCE
A glass includes SiO.sub.2 in an amount of at least 60.0 wt.-% and an amount of WO.sub.3 from 0.1 ppm to 60.0 ppm. Tungsten is present in such oxidation states that a transmittance of the glass at a wavelength of 260 nm is at least 75.0%.
GLASS HAVING HIGH UV TRANSMITTANCE AND HIGH SOLARIZATION RESISTANCE
A glass includes SiO.sub.2 in an amount of at least 60.0 wt.-% and an amount of MoO.sub.3 from 0.1 ppm to 30.0 ppm. Molybdenum is present in such oxidation states that a transmittance at a wavelength of 260 nm is at least 65.0% at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm.
UV blocking for improved transmission glasses
Embodiments are directed to glass articles which are resistant to UV photodarkening, the glass articles having a thickness ≤1.3 mm and comprise UV absorbers such as Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Cu, Ce, Ge, Mo, Cr, Co and Ni, and combinations thereof, or alternatively comprising ZnO or SnO.sub.2.

COLOR STABILITY UNDER IRRADIATION WITH BLUE LIGHT
A glass includes the following components in the specified proportions (in % by weight): 50-80% SiO.sub.2, 2-30% B.sub.2O.sub.3, 0-5% Al.sub.2O.sub.3, 0-10% CaO, 0-10% BaO, 0-5% Li.sub.2O, 0-20% Na.sub.2O, 1-25% K.sub.2O, and 5-30% ΣR.sub.2O. R.sub.2O includes at least one alkali metal oxide. The glass includes at least one first solarization component and at least one second solarization component. A proportion of the first solarization component in the glass is in a range from 0.01 to <1.0 ppm (by weight) and a proportion of the second solarization component in the glass is in a range from 1000 to 10,000 ppm (by weight).
GLASS MATERIAL
Provided is a glass material having a high light transmittance in a short wavelength range and easily producible. A glass material contains, in terms of % by mole, 5 to less than 30% Pr.sub.2O.sub.3 and 0.1 to 95% B.sub.2O.sub.3.

Optically transparent glass ceramic materials comprising a glass phase containing and a crystalline tungsten bronze phase comprising nanoparticles and having the formula M.sub.xWO.sub.3, where M includes at least one H, Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Cu, Ag, Sn, Cd, In, Tl, Pb, Bi, Th, La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and U, and where 0<x<1. Aluminosilicate and zinc-bismuth-borate glasses comprising at least one of Sm.sub.2O.sub.3, Pr.sub.2O.sub.3, and Er.sub.2O.sub.3 are also provided.
LI2O-AL2O3-SIO2-BASED CRYSTALLIZED GLASS
Provided is a Li.sub.2O-Al.sub.2O.sub.3-SiO.sub.2-based crystallized glass that has a high permeability to light in a ultraviolet to infrared range and is less likely to be broken. A Li.sub.2O-Al.sub.2O.sub.3-SiO.sub.2-based crystallized glass contains, in terms of % by mass, 40 to 90% Si.sub.O2, 5 to 30% Al.sub.2O.sub.3, 1 to 10% Li.sub.2O, 0 to 20% SnO.sub.2, 0 to 5% ZrO.sub.2, 0 to 10% MgO, 0 to 10% P.sub.2O.sub.5, and 0 to 4% TiO.sub.2 and a mass ratio of Li.sub.2O/(MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+Na.sub.2O+K.sub.2O) is 3 or less.
