Sheet silicate lamellae with a high aspect ratio
The present invention relates to sheet silicate lamellae of a 2:1 sheet silicate with a high aspect ratio, to a method for producing these sheet silicate lamellae and to an aqueous dispersion which comprises the sheet silicate lamellae. The present invention further relates to the use of the sheet silicate lamellae of the invention for producing a composite material, and also to a corresponding composite material comprising or obtainable using the sheet silicate lamellae, more particularly for use as a diffusion barrier or as a flame retardant.
Sealing material
A water resistant sealing material suitable as a gasket or valve seal is described. The sealing material comprises modified chemically exfoliated vermiculite (CEV) in a proportion of 30-70% w/w sealing material and a filler in a proportion of 70-30% w/w sealing material, and optionally other additives in a proportion of 0-10% w/w sealing material. The modified CEV comprises water resistance enhancing monovalent cations. The sealing material is particularly useful to provide improved water resistance in gaskets and valve seals.

COMPLEX OF LAMELLAR INORGANIC COMPOUND AND ORGANIC COMPOUND AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THEREOF, DELAMINATED LAMELLAR INORGANIC COMPOUND AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THEREOF, INSULATING RESIN COMPOSITION, RESIN SHEET, INSULATOR, RESIN SHEET CURED PRODUCT, AND HEAT DISSIPATING MEMBER
A method of producing a complex of a lamellar inorganic compound and an organic compound includes: heat-treating a particular non-swelling lamellar inorganic compound within a pyrolysis temperature range of the non-swelling lamellar inorganic compound; and intercalating an organic compound into the non-swelling lamellar inorganic compound in a dispersion liquid in which the heat-treated non-swelling lamellar inorganic compound is dispersed in a medium, thereby inserting the organic compound into an interlamellar space of the non-swelling lamellar inorganic compound.
