COMB POLYMERS AS BLOCKING ADDITIVES FOR SWELLING CLAYS
A method includes adding (i) a comb polymer and (ii) a plasticizer to a mineral binder composition comprising swellable clays. The comb polymer includes: at least one poly(alkylene oxide) side chain-bearing monomer unit without ionic groups, optionally at least one cationic monomer unit, optionally at least one anionic monomer unit, and optionally, at least one non-ionic monomer unit, wherein a molar ratio of the cationic monomer units to the side chain-bearing monomer units is equal to or less than 10, a molar ratio of the anionic monomer units to the side chain-bearing monomer units is less than 1, and a molar ratio of the non-ionic monomer units to the side chain-bearing monomer units is less than 5.

Disclosed is a curable composition for the manufacture, by stereolithography, of a green part made of a ceramic or metallic material, the curable composition including at least one ceramic and/or metallic powder; at least one polymerizable monomer and/or oligomer; at least one initiator for the polymerization of the polymerizable monomer(s) and/or oligomer(s). The initiator(s) are selected from iodonium, sulphonium and diazonium salts and onium salts in combination with at least one amine and/or at least one phosphine to form a charge transfer complex. The initiator(s) may generate the initiation of a thermal polymerization under the exposure to at least one source of UV, visible or IR irradiation.

The present invention provides comb polymer compositions comprising phosphorus acid group containing backbone polymers of six-membered cyclic methacrylic imide having one or more side chain ether group containing N-substituent chosen from an ether group, a polyether group, an etheramine group, a polyetheramine group, an ether group crosslinking the backbone polymer chains, and a polyether group crosslinking the backbone polymer chains. The backbone polymers comprise from 60 to 100 wt. %, based on the total weight of monomers used to make the backbone polymer, of methacrylic acid polymerized units, regardless of their form, and from 7.5 to 95 wt. % of such polymerized units as methacrylic anhydride groups or six-membered cyclic methacrylic imide groups.

The present invention pertains to the use, in the manufacture of an aqueous formulation with a hydraulic binder base, of a combination of at least one comb-branched copolymer having a (meth)acrylic skeleton, onto which are grafted side-chains terminated by a hydrophilic group, and at least one ASE acrylic polymer. This results in improving the workability of said formulation, without causing a segregation phenomenon.
