CORES FOR DIE CASTING
What are described are the use of a refractory coating composition for production of cores for diecasting, a kit for production of cores for use in diecasting, a method of producing cores for use in diecasting, cores for use in diecasting, and the use of such cores in diecasting, especially of lightweight metals
FULL-FIBER BURNER BRICK AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A full-fiber burner brick and a preparation method thereof, comprising mixing alumina crystal fiber and amorphous ceramic fiber with both of them being a combination of fibers of different lengths gradations, and moreover adding fine powder fillers of different particle size gradations and supplementing other additives. This enables the internal structure of the product more uniform, increases the bulk density of the product, and also benefits the suction filterability of fiber cotton blank, and is conducive to forming and improving the strength of the blank. The surface of the brick body is further provided with a coating, which can effectively protect the cotton fiber of the brick body fiber from harsh environments, improve its high temperature resistance, and help to extend the service life of the burner brick.
Jamb spray mixes including fused silica and methods of utilizing the mixes
A dry composition formulated to be combined with water to form a jamb spray mix, the dry composition comprising, by weight: 0.1% to 10% phosphate by weight based on total weight of the dry composition; 5% to 15% plasticizer by weight based on total weight of the dry composition; and the balance including fused silica particles and impurities.
Method of filling a substrate having a selected plurality of channels with a granular material
The method is for use with a substrate having a plurality of parallel channels extending therethrough. In the method, the steps comprise: filling a selected plurality of the channels with a granular material; and consolidating the granular material through heat. The selected plurality of channels is selected to produce a wall that separates the substrate into: a first portion having a first plurality of the parallel channels extending therethrough; and a second portion having a second plurality of the parallel channels extending therethrough.
CERAMIC COATING WITH AMBIENT TEMPERATURE CURE
A ceramic or composite coating is prepared from a mixture of a fire-resistant binder and an inorganic filler such that the mixture is suitable to be applied as a coating to a substrate, can be cured in situ, and protects the underlying substrate to which it is applied. In one example, the inorganic filler includes fly ash, where a mix ratio of the inorganic filler to the fire-resistant binder is from 1:1 to 9:1 by weight. The mixture can be cured in air at room temperature to form a composite coating on wood, metal, composites, and other substrates. High temperature processing can convert the composite to a ceramic.
MATERIALS SYSTEMS FOR INHIBITING PENETRATION OF MOLTEN SALTS, METHODS THEREFOR, AND DEVICES PROVIDED THEREWITH
Materials systems resistant to penetration of molten salts and may be present within a molten-salt-facing wall of a device for containing a molten salt bath at an elevated temperature, and molten-salt-facing walls and devices formed by such materials systems. A first layer of such a system defines an outer surface for direct contact with the molten salt bath, and resists erosion and corrosion and is penetrable by the molten salt at the elevated temperature. A second layer is located adjacent to the first layer and exhibits little or no wetting by the molten salt so that at least a portion of a thickness of the second layer is not penetrable by the molten salt. A third layer is located adjacent to the second layer and is porous and exhibits a low thermal conductivity at the elevated temperature.
Cementitious Composition
The present invention is directed to a two-component (2K) anhydrous composition comprising a first component (1) comprising calcium aluminate cement; Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS); and fumed silica; and a second component (2) comprising calcined bauxite; and fused zirconia mullite.
Stability of refractory materials in high temperature steam
The present invention relates, in part, to a discovery of a method for using atomic layer deposition (ALD) to improve the stability of refractory materials in high temperature steam, and compositions produced by the method.
INSULATION
A mineral wool insulating product which comprises a layer, notably a continuous layer, of mixed mineral wool fibres, the mixed mineral wool fibres comprising a binder, first mineral wool fibres and second mineral wool fibres, the first mineral wool fibres and the second mineral wool fibres have a difference of softening point.
High Emissivity Cerium Oxide Coating
The present invention relates to a coating composition comprising: 10 to 80 wt % of cerium oxide comprising a dopant based upon the total weight of the composition, wherein said dopant is selected from iron oxide, cobalt oxide, chromium oxide, lanthanum oxide, or mixtures thereof, and the atomic ratio of dopant metal to cerium is in the range 0.01:1 to 0.5:1; and 10 to 50 wt % of binder based upon the total weight of the composition.
