A roofing material is provided that comprises a coating composition including a filler and a bituminous composition comprising at least one bitumen base, at least one compound of general Formula (I): Ar1-R.sub.1—Ar.sub.2 (I), and at least one compound of general formula (II): R.sub.2—(NH).sub.nCONH—X—(NHCO).sub.p(NH).sub.n—R′.sub.2 (II). The invention also concerns a process for the preparation of a roofing material comprising the coating composition.
Construction materials, compositions and methods of making same
A composition comprising at least one binder coated with at least one metallate additive according to formula 1: (RO).sub.m-M-(O.sub.a˜X.sub.b˜R′.sub.c˜Y.sub.d).sub.n (formula 1), wherein M is one of titanium and zirconium. The composition is particularly useful in producing treated binders and construction materials, wherein the resulting treated binders and construction materials have advantageous properties, such as increased strength. Also disclosed are methods of preparing the inventive composition, treated binders and construction materials.
ROOFING TILE COATING COMPOSITIONS
Coating compositions are useful for applying to surfaces of molding, include concrete moldings such as roofing tile. The coating composition comprise monomers that provide advantageous properties to reduce water uptake as well as improving the aesthetic appearance.
FIBER-CONTAINING ROOF TILE, MOLDING MATERIAL FOR PRODUCING FIBER-CONTAINING ROOF TILE, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME
A roof tile containing fibers which satisfy the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) to have an average fiber diameter of 50 μm or less; (2) to have an aspect ratio of 50 to 2000; and (3) to have three or less buckled portions per fiber.
SINTERED GEOPOLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES
The present invention relates to geopolymer compositions, sintered geopolymer articles from the geopolymer compositions and processes for manufacturing sintered geopolymer articles from the geopolymer compositions. The invention provides a process of producing a sintered geopolymer article containing a sintered geopolymer composition, wherein the sintered geopolymer composition comprises a sintered geopolymeric matrix, said process comprising the steps of: (1) forming a geopolymer composition comprising at least one aluminosilicate precursor, an alkali activating agent and water, wherein in the geopolymer article, the aluminosilicate precursor particles are at least partially coated by the alkali activating agent; and (2) firing the geopolymer article to sinter the geopolymer composition, wherein the alkali activating agent is capable of at least partially activating and dissolving the aluminosilicate precursor particles during at least a portion of the firing step, and wherein the firing of the geopolymer article includes a geopolymer composition sintering stage.
Composition Having Plasma-treated Silicon Carbide, Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene and Carbon Nanotube Fibers
The invention relates to processes for making improved ultra-high performance concrete with plasma-treated inclusions and articles made from the same. The invention includes a process for producing silicon carbide and multiwalled carbon nanotubes by heating agricultural waste husks in an inert atmosphere to a temperature higher than 1300 degrees C. to obtain a mixture containing silicon carbide and MWCNTs, and treating the mixture to extract the silicon carbide and MWCNTs for use as microinclusions in ultra high performance concrete.
THIN FIBER CEMENT ROOF TILES COMPRISING CORE-SHELL EMULSIONS HAVING IMPROVED IMPACT RESISTANCE
The present invention provides fiber cement articles, such as roof tiles having improved impact and hail resistance and methods for making them. The fiber cement articles comprise cement, an optional filler, reinforcing fibers, such as poly(vinyl alcohol) fibers or a mixture of cellulosic and synthetic fibers, one or more core-shell aqueous emulsion polymers having a crosslinked rubbery core with a calculated glass transition temperature (calculated Tg) of from −20 to −140° C., and an at least partially grafted acrylic or vinyl shell polymer having a calculated Tg of from 20 to 170° C., and having a Z-average primary particle size of from 55 to 800 nm, or, preferably, from 140 to 650 nm. The solids weight ratio of the crosslinked rubbery core to the shell of the core-shell aqueous emulsion polymer may range from 85:20 to 97:3.
Method of forming a cement containing insulated block, wall or other building material
