A synchronous single-liquid grouting slurry, its technology and application for large diameter shield engineering under water-rich, high-pressure and weak soil strata conditions, comprising raw materials: 1050-1200 parts of gold tailing, 420-480 parts of silicate cement clinker, 220-240 parts of fly ash, 45-120 parts of waste clay brick, 65-95 parts of slag, 25-45 parts of limestone tailing, 70-80 parts of steel slag, 30-45 parts of silica fume, 15-22 parts of desulfurized gypsum, and 9-15 parts of quick-setting and early-strength composite additive. The invention controls the d.sub.50, d.sub.85 and d.sub.95 of the material particles as 35-40, 42-48 and 50-55 μm, respectively. Gold tailing with the particle size of 120-600 μm being used as the fine aggregate, their volume fractions are 40-60%. The slurry production technique, comprising crushing-sieving-superfine ball milling-homogenization-particle size classification-variable speed mixing being developed. The shield tail eight-point grouting technique is being developed for filling.
System And Method For Sealing A Well
A method of controlled hydration expansion of a smectite-containing day mineral (SCM) within an aqueous environment in a confined volumetric space, the method comprising the steps of: —introducing an amount of an SCM into said volumetric space via an inlet thereinto, and initiating the hydration expansion of the SCM to release SCM particles into the confined volumetric space, and increase the pressure therein; and —introducing a flow path modification to control said released SCM particles from undergoing a recompression, said modification thereby maintaining the pressure in the volumetric space.
GYPSUM CEMENT WITH REDUCED PERMEABILITY
A cellular glass insulation system for an outer surface of a structure or pipe. The insulation system includes multiple segments of cellular glass. An adhesive having a reduced permeability is provided at the interface between the individual cellular glass segments and is configured to limit water intrusion that might cause corrosion of the structure or pipe.
PIPE FIXING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A pipe fixing device includes a fixing portion formed in a channel shape in which a first space therein is opened to an outside through an opening formed in an upper portion; and a support coupled to a lower portion of the fixing portion and made of steel-making slag, wherein a part of upper end edges of the fixing portion corresponding to a front and a rear of the opening is formed to be bent toward the first space.
Enhanced Pozzolan For Using In Extended Life Cements
A method of cementing in a subterranean formation may include, activating an extended-life cement composition by mixing at least the extended-life cement composition with a liquid activated pozzolan additive comprising a carrier fluid and an activated pozzolan, wherein the extended-life cement composition comprises water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder; introducing the extended-life cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the extended-life cement composition to set to form a hardened mass in the subterranean formation.
INDUSTRIAL FLUIDS WITH DILUTION RESISTANCE AND TUNABLE VISCOSITY, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING INDUSTRIAL FLUIDS
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for increasing the viscosity of a calcium-containing fluid by addition of a modifying agent. The resulting enhanced viscosity fluid may be used in a variety of applications including drilling, to create an enhanced-viscosity fluid, and demolition/mining to create an expansive putty for use in underwater and overhead applications.
TREATMENT FLUIDS COMPRISING CALCIUM ALUMINATE CEMENT AND METHODS OF USE
Methods and systems for the treatment of wells are disclosed. A method for treating a well comprises providing a treatment fluid comprising calcium-aluminate cement, water, and a cement set retarder; and introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore. A system for treating a well comprises a treatment fluid comprising calcium-aluminate cement, water, and a cement set retarder; a vessel to contain the treatment fluid; a pumping system coupled to the vessel to pump the treatment fluid; and a conduit coupled to the pumping system.
PIPE WEIGHT COATING
Provided herein are novel and improved weight coating systems suitable for use with pipes, particularly pipes that are submerged in liquid, such as water, in environments including oceans, seas, marshes, lakes and rivers. The novel coating systems provided herein comprise an aggregate and a polyurethane binder, wherein the polyurethane binder is a two -component composition comprising an isocyanate component and an iso-cyanate-reactive component. The coating systems provided have increased durability, as well as flexibility allowing for efficiencies related to transportation, storage, use and resistance to corrosive effects. Furthermore, the coating systems are cost effective and have minimal or zero impact on the environments in which they are utilized.
METHODS INVOLVING CEMENTS THAT EMPLOY CARBON DIOXIDE AS A REACTANT
A method of cementing an annular space between a pipe string and a well bore, the method comprising the steps of (a) providing a cement composition including a calcium-deficient calcium silicate; (b) mixing the cement composition with water to form a cement slurry; (c) mixing the cement slurry composition with carbon dioxide form a foamed cement; and (d) placing the foamed cement in the annular space between the pipe string and the wellbore.
