Method of making chemical-resistant quartz-based concrete
A method of making a chemical-resistant concrete composition, namely a quartz-based casting composition, is provided. The quartz-based casting composition provides excellent resistance to attack by chemicals, including weak and strong acids. The quartz-based casting composition is useful as concrete in various construction applications where corrosion resistance is needed. The casting composition includes a dry component and a wet component. The dry component includes about 25% to about 100% by weight quartz and the corrosion resistance increases with increasing quartz content.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUPERSULPHATED CEMENT
The invention relates to a method for producing supersulfated cement, wherein pozzolanic and hydraulic aluminosilicate components and a calcium-sulfate-alkaline activation complex are mixed together. The calcium-sulfate-alkaline activation complex is produced by carrying out the following successive steps: a first step of mixing 70% by weight of calcium sulfate and 30% by weight of alkaline components; and subsequently; a second step of thermodynamically activating, by hot quenching, the calcium-sulfate-alkaline activation complex; and subsequently; a third step of cold quenching, by rapid mixing, the activated calcium-sulfate-alkaline activation complex with the pozzolanic aluminosilicate components.
Chemical Storage Tank Assembly
A chemical storage tank assembly for storing sulfuric compounds includes a plurality of bricks that is each comprised of basalt. In this way each of the bricks can resist ingress of sulfuric compounds into the bricks. The plurality of bricks are arranged to define a floor, a plurality of walls and a roof of a storage tank to contain sulfuric compounds. A grout is positioned between each of the bricks for binding the bricks together to define the storage tank. Additionally, the grout is comprised of calcium silicate to resist the ingress of sulfuric compounds into the grout.
Composition containing furfuryl silicates and furfuryl alcohol
Described are a composition comprising furfuryl silicates and furfuryl alcohol, especially for use as acid-curable binder, and processes for producing such a composition.
SYNTHETIC ALUMINOSILICATE MATERIAL AND METHODS OF FORMING AND USING SAME
Methods of forming synthetic aluminosilicate material are disclosed. Exemplary methods include forming a polymer solution, adding an aluminum precursor to the polymer solution, adding a silicon precursor to the polymer solution, forming a gel from the polymer solution, calcining the gel to form an aluminosilicate powder, and grinding the aluminosilicate powder to form ground aluminosilicate material. The synthetic aluminosilicate material can be used in the formation of cement and concrete.
CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITION FOR PROTECTING SURFACES AGAINST (BIO)CORROSION
Disclosed is a novel cement and aggregate compositions, to uses thereof for protecting surfaces, in particular surfaces likely to be affected by biocorrosion.
ACID-RESISTANT INORGANIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD OF FORMING SAME
Acid-resistant composite materials and methods of forming acid resistant composite materials are disclosed. The acid resistant composite materials can include one or more monovalent, divalent, or polyvalent cationic metals. The acid resistant composite materials can be used, for example, in the formation of concreate or as a coating for concrete.
Structure Protection Sheet, Concrete Block, and Method for Manufacturing Reinforced Structure
The present invention provides a structure protection sheet capable of dramatically reducing a construction period to place protective layers on surfaces of structures such as concrete, protecting the structures for a long time, preventing swelling phenomena caused by water vapor inside the concrete, and preventing a decrease in attachability. The present invention relates to a structure protection sheet including: a polymer cement cured layer on a side facing a structure; and a resin layer on the polymer cement cured layer, the structure protection sheet having a water vapor transmission rate of 10 to 50 g/m.sup.2.Math.day.
INDUSTRIAL FLUIDS WITH DILUTION RESISTANCE AND TUNABLE VISCOSITY, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING INDUSTRIAL FLUIDS
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for increasing the viscosity of a calcium-containing fluid by addition of a modifying agent. The resulting enhanced viscosity fluid may be used in a variety of applications including drilling, to create an enhanced-viscosity fluid, and demolition/mining to create an expansive putty for use in underwater and overhead applications.
Fire-resistant sulfur concrete
A sulfur concrete has constituents that include a coarse aggregate in an amount in a range of 40-50 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, a fine aggregate in an amount in a range of 20-40 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, a fine filler in an amount in a range of 8-12 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete, and a binder in an amount in a range of 12-20 wt % of the weight of the sulfur concrete. The binder includes elemental sulfur in an amount in a range of 25-60 wt % of the weight of the binder and asphalt in an amount in a range of 40-75 wt % of the weight of the binder.
