Provided is a member for optical glass manufacturing apparatus. The member is used for optical glass manufacturing apparatus and exposed to a gas containing a halogen element in a high temperature environment of 1100° C. or higher. The member includes dense ceramics containing silicon nitride as a main component, and a porosity of a surface layer of the member is smaller than a porosity of the inside of the member.
Method for injecting a loaded suspension into a fibrous texture and method for manufacturing a part made of composite material
A method for injecting a loaded suspension into a fibrous texture having a three-dimensional or multilayer weaving includes the injection of a suspension containing a powder of solid particles into the volume of the fibrous texture. The injection of the loaded suspension is carried out by at least one hollow needle in communication with a loaded suspension supply device, each needle being movable in at least one direction extending between a first face and a second opposite face of the fibrous texture so as to inject the loaded suspension at one or more determined depths in the fibrous texture.

Cordierite-based sintered body, method for producing the same, and composite substrate
A cordierite-based sintered body according to the present invention contains cordierite as a main component and silicon nitride or silicon carbide. The cordierite-based sintered body preferably has a thermal expansion coefficient less than 2.4 ppm/° C. at 40° C. to 400° C., an open porosity of 0.5% or less, and an average grain size of 1 μm or less.
ADAPTIVE SURFACE TEXTURING FOR CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITES
An adaptive surface texturing method is provided for use with a part formed of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) to be coated with an environmental barrier coating (EBC). The method includes coating a CMC surface of the part with an initial coating, determining a contour and an undulation pattern of the CMC surface and designing a texturing pattern to follow the contour and the undulation pattern and to be formed in the initial coating based on a thickness of the initial coating and an average particle size of a slurry of the EBC.
