Method for assembling parts made of SiC materials by means of non-reactive brazing in an oxidizing atmosphere, brazing compositions, and gasket and assembly obtained by said method

A method is described for assembling at least two parts made of silicon carbide based materials by non-reactive brazing in an oxidizing atmosphere, each of the parts comprising a surface to be assembled, wherein the parts are placed in contact with a non-reactive brazing composition, the assembly formed by the parts and the brazing composition is heated to a brazing temperature sufficient for completely or at least partially melting the brazing composition, or rendering the brazing composition viscous, and the parts and the brazing composition are cooled so as to form, after cooling the latter to ambient temperature, a moderately refractory joint. The non-reactive brazing composition is a composition A consisting of silica (SiO.sub.2), alumina (Al.sub.2O.sub.3), and calcium oxide (CaO), or a composition B consisting of alumina (Al.sub.2O.sub.3), calcium oxide (CaO), and magnesium oxide (MgO), and, before heating the assembly formed by the parts and the brazing composition to the brazing temperature, a supply of silicon in a non-oxidized form is carried out on the surfaces to be assembled of the parts to be assembled, and/or on the surface layers comprising the surfaces to be assembled of the parts to be assembled, and/or in the brazing composition.

Layered deposition for reactive joining of composites

A method including applying layers of multiple constituents where the constituents are capable of producing a non-equilibrium condition on the contacting surfaces of a ceramic matrix composite component and a gas turbine engine component where one outer coating includes a first constituent and the other outer coating includes a second constituent; forming a component assembly with the ceramic matrix composite component coupled to the gas turbine engine component with contact between the outer coatings; adding an energy to facilitate an equilibrium reaction between the first constituent of the first outer coating and the second constituent of the second outer coating; and as a result of adding the energy, forming a bond structure in the component assembly with a product of the equilibrium reaction where the bond structure affixes the ceramic matrix composite component to the gas turbine engine component between the first constituent and the second constituent.

Copper-ceramic bonded body, insulated circuit board, method for producing copper-ceramic bonded body, and method for producing insulated circuit board

A copper-ceramic bonded body includes a copper member made of copper or a copper alloy, and a ceramic member made of silicon nitride, the copper member and the ceramic member being bonded to each other, in which a maximum length of a MgN compound phase which is present at a bonded interface between the copper member and the ceramic member is less than 100 nm, and in a unit length along the bonded interface, the number density of the MgN compound phase in a range of a length of 10 nm or more and less than 100 nm is less than 8 pieces/m.
