A surface-coated cutting tool according to the present invention includes a tool body and a hard coating layer including a complex carbonitride layer containing a small amount of chlorine and (Ti.sub.(1-x)Zr.sub.xyHf.sub.x(1-y))(N.sub.(1-z)C.sub.z) (0.10≤x≤0.90, 0<y≤1.0, 0.08<z<0.60), a ZrHf and C content ratios in cycles, a cycle distance between a maximum ZrHf content point and an adjacent minimum ZrHf content point and a cycle distance between a maximum C content point and an adjacent minimum C content point are 5 to 100 nm, an average value of content ratio differences Δx and Δz is 0.02 or more, a distance between the maximum ZrHf content point and the maximum C content point is ⅕ or less of the distance between a maximum content point and a minimum content point of adjacent ZrHf components, and a composition fluctuation structure is 10% or more.

The nanoparticles have a uniform distribution of the nitride or carbide.

A long-term ablation-resistant nitrogen-containing carbide ultra-high temperature ceramic with an ultra-high melting point is prepared as follows: preparing the HfC powder and the HfN powder according to a mass ratio of HfC:HfN=(1-7):1; uniformly mixing the HfC powder and the HfN powder with the carbon powder and the carbon nitride powder to obtain a mixed powder, wherein the amount of the carbon powder and the amount of the carbon nitride powder do not exceed 8.0 wt. % and 5.0 wt. %, respectively, of the mixed powder mass; and performing spark plasma sintering on the mixed powder to produce the ceramic with the ultra-high melting point, a density ≥98%, and a uniform C/N content distribution. The ultra-high temperature ceramic is suitable for ultra-high temperature ablation-resistant protection at ≥3000° C. The ceramic maintains a close to zero ablation rate and a continuously stable oxidation-resistant protective structure after ablation for 300 s.

Thermoelectric composite material comprising MXene and method for manufacturing the same

Disclosed is a thermoelectric composite material includes a thermoelectric material including crystal grains; and a MXene inserted at boundaries of the crystal grains consisting of the thermoelectric material. Accordingly, the thermoelectric composite material may have a reduced thermal conductivity and an increased electrical conductivity. Furthermore, mechanical properties of the thermoelectric composite material may be improved.
