Adsorption structure, adsorption structure unit, and method for manufacturing same
An adsorption structure unit prevents water leakage from an adsorption structure and improves the durability of the adsorption structure and the durability of the adsorption structure unit. An adsorption structure has a filter portion having a plurality of flow paths divided by a plurality of partition walls and a plugged portion shutting a feed water inflow or outflow end of the plurality of flow paths, a water-impermeable outer tube accommodating the filter portion, and a seal material blocking a gap between the filter portion and the outer tube in at least one end portion of the filter portion. An adsorption structure unit has the adsorption structure, a housing supplying feed water from one end of the adsorption structure, and discharging the feed water from the other end, and a ring member disposed between end portions on both sides of the outer tube and an inner surface of the housing.
CEMENT MIXTURES FOR PLUGGING MULTICELLULAR FILTER BODIES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A cement mixture for application to a honeycomb body and a method of forming a plugged ceramic honeycomb body is provided. The cement mixture contains a plurality of inorganic particles including at least about 50% of a refractory material selected from at least one of alumina and zirconia and less than about 15% titania (by weight), a pore forming agent, an organic binder, and a liquid vehicle.

CEMENT PLUG COMPOSITION FOR APPLICATION TO A CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODY AND METHOD OF FORMING PLUGGED CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODY WITH THE SAME
A cement composition for plugging a honeycomb body, a plugged honeycomb body, and methods of plugging a honeycomb body are provided. The cement composition includes a source of inorganic particles, an inorganic binder, an organic binder, and a crosslinking agent that is capable of reacting with the inorganic binder and the organic binder. The cement composition can be dried without firing to form water-resistant plugs in a honeycomb body.
Cement compositions for applying to honeycomb bodies
Disclosed are cement compositions for applying to honeycomb bodies as a plugging cement composition, segment cement, or even as an after-applied artificial skin or coating. The cement compositions generally comprise an inorganic powder batch mixture; an organic binder; a liquid vehicle; and a gelled inorganic binder. Also disclosed are honeycomb bodies having the disclosed cement compositions applied thereto, and methods for making same.
AEROSOL DEPOSITION APPARATUS, METHOD, AND FILTER BODY WITH DEPOSITS
Apparatus and methods are disclosed which apply inorganic particles to a plugged honeycomb body comprising porous walls, an inlet end and an outlet end. The apparatus comprises a Venturi tube through which the particles flow into a duct system. Filtration articles comprise: a plugged honeycomb body; inorganic deposits disposed within the plugged honeycomb filter body having a porosity in a range of greater than 95% to less than or equal to 99.9% and an average thickness in a range of greater than or equal to 0.5 .Math.m to less than or equal to 50 .Math.m; and a clean filtration efficiency of greater than or equal to 85% as measured by a smoke filtration efficiency test.
HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
A honeycomb structure includes a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure body including porous partition walls defining and forming a plurality of cells which extend from an inflow end face to an outflow end face, and a porous outer wall surrounding the partition walls, a porous supporting bulge disposed to extend out from a circumference of the outer wall so that at least a part of the outer wall is exposed, and plugging portions arranged in open ends of the cells, and the supporting bulge has support portions and a side wall portion, and the partition walls and the outer wall of the honeycomb structure body and the support portions and the side wall portion of the supporting bulge are all formed monolithically by formation of a ceramic raw material.
Masking method for honeycomb formed body, plugged portion forming method for honeycomb formed body, and manufacturing method of honeycomb fired product
A masking method for honeycomb formed body, including bonding a film on at least one bottom face of a honeycomb formed body in a quadrangular prism shape such that an adhesive surface is in contact with the bottom face. The step of bonding the film includes bonding of the film so as to have a bottom face covering portion that covers a whole surface of the bottom face and a pair of outer edge portions along one pair of opposite sides of a quadrangle defining an outer peripheral shape of the bottom face and a pair of protruding portions protruding from another pair of opposite sides of the quadrangle. At least a part of the adhesive surface of each of the pair of protruding portions is bonded so as to be in contact with a pair of opposing lateral faces of the honeycomb formed body.

Honeycomb formed body and method for producing honeycomb structure
A honeycomb formed body containing a ceramics raw material, the honeycomb formed body including: a pillar shaped honeycomb structure portion having a plurality of rectangular cells, the cells being defined by partition walls and extending from a first end face to a second end face to form flow paths; an outer peripheral portion having outer peripheral portions X where the partition walls are covered with an outer peripheral wall; and outer peripheral portions Y where the partition walls are exposed. Each of the outer peripheral portions X includes a tapered portion having a gradually deceasing thickness of the outer peripheral wall toward a boundary portion with an adjacent outer peripheral portion Y. The tapered portion requires a length equal to or more than one time of an average cell pitch in the outer peripheral direction until thickness of the outer peripheral wall is halved.
