A system and method are provided for manufacturing the polymer-coated fertilizers with a controlled release in a single pass. The system has a feeding mechanism connected to a first chill roll to supply the articles to the first cavities provided on the first roll to store and hold the articles. A first machine produces and applies a first polymer film on the articles held in the first chill roll to coat the articles partially with the first polymer film. The partially coated articles are transferred to a second chill roll placed at a side or on a top of the first chill roll. A second machine produces and applies the second polymer film on the partially coated articles in the second chill roll so that the articles are encapsulated by the first and second polymer films. A collector mechanism receives the encapsulated articles from the second chill roll.

Agricultural coating containing sugar ester and methods

The invention is a coating for agricultural products, which includes at least 10% of renewably sourced and biodegradable sugar esters. The invention is also a method of making a coated agricultural product, including the steps of providing a coating composition comprising at least 10% of a renewably sourced and biodegradable sugar ester, heating the coating composition to a temperature to reduce its viscosity to below about 100 cP, adding the coating composition to an agricultural product to form a mixture, and cooling the mixture to produce a coated agricultural product. The invention is also a method of reducing dust released from an agricultural product that includes the step of providing a coating composition comprising at least 10% of a renewable sourced and biodegradable sugar ester. Enough of the coating composition is added to the agricultural product to reduce the amount of dust released from the agricultural product by at least half. Finally, the invention is also a method of reducing caking in a granular agricultural product.

STABILIZED UREA CONTAINING FERTILIZER BLENDS

A fertilizer blend containing 10 wt. % to 90 wt. % of a first particulate fertilizer composition and 10 wt. % to 90 wt. % of a second particulate fertilizer composition is disclosed. In the fertilizer blend, the second particulate fertilizer composition can be blended with the first particulate fertilizer composition. The first particulate fertilizer composition can include a core containing a binder, a pH buffering agent, and an urease inhibitor, and a shell containing urea, where the shell covers at least a portion of an outer surface of the core.
