Also provided herein is a method for enriching a composition with polyphenolic compounds as well as compositions made by the method. Disclosed herein are polymorphic and amorphous forms of anhydrate, hydrate, and solvates of (R)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-(2,4,5-trimethyl-3,6-dioxocyclohexa-1,4-dienyl)butanamide and methods of using such compositions for treating or suppressing oxidative stress disorders, including mitochondrial disorders, impaired energy processing disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and diseases of aging. The invention relates to methods of separating Trolox isomers (R)-Trolox and (S)-Trolox, comprising: (a) contacting a mixture of (R) and (S)-Trolox with a resolving agent selected from the group consisting of (1S,2S)-(+)-Pseudoephedrine, (R)-(+)-2-Amino-3-phenyl-1-propanol, (1R,2R)-(−)-Pseudoephedrine, and (S)-(−)-2-Amino-3-phenyl-1-propanol, wherein the resolving agent forms a solid salt with one of (R)-Trolox and (S)-Trolox, and substantially does not form a solid salt with the other; and (b) separating the solid salt from the Trolox isomer that did not form the solid salt with the resolving agent.

A method of operating a crystallizing vessel assembly, said vessel assembly having a crystallizing vessel, and a rotor comprising a rotor shaft, said rotor including a plurality of rotor arms, said rotor arms having arms attached to the rotor shaft and scrapers attached at the arms. The crystals are grown on the inside of the vessel and the rotor is rotated to scrape said crystals off. To improve liquid flow inside the crystallizing vessel, a plurality of arms of the rotor arms are hollow arms, each arm of the plurality of arms including an inlet opening that is relatively close to the shaft and an outlet opening that is relatively far from the shaft.

The present disclosure relates to isolating one or more cannabinoids from an input mixture. There is disclosed an apparatus that comprises a volatizing unit, a fractional distillation unit, and a condensing unit. The volatizing unit receives and volatilizes the input mixture to provide a cannabinoid-containing vapor stream and a residue. The fractional distillation unit comprises a plenum for receiving the cannabinoid-containing vapor stream and separates a first cannabinoid from at least a second cannabinoid. The condensing unit is configured to receive a portion of the cannabinoid-containing vapor stream comprising the first cannabinoid from the plenum and to form a condensed first cannabinoid output stream and a recirculate stream. There are also disclosed methods for isolating one or more cannabinoids employing a recirculate stream.
