Organic peroxide dispersions
Evaporation of water from an aqueous dispersion of a solid peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide is retarded by the incorporation of carboxylic acid salt. The carboxylic acid salt renders the aqueous dispersion less susceptible to explosive decomposition when exposed to external triggering events such as impact, heat, friction or contamination, yet does not interfere with the ability to achieve and maintain a stable, small particle size dispersion having desirable viscosity and flow properties.

Formulation of di(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate
Powder formulation comprising 20-75 wt % of di(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate and 25-80 wt % of a phlegmatizer selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol dibenzoate, phenyl benzoate, trimethylol propane tribenzoate, dimethylsulfon, ethylene glycol ditoluate, 1,3-propanediol ditoluate, ethylene glycol 4-tert-butylbenzoate, ethylene glycol monobenzoate monotoluate, 2,3-butanediol dibenzoate, 4-methylphenyl benzoate acid ester, and combinations thereof.
Methods for forming peroxyformic acid and uses thereof
The present invention relates generally to methods for forming peroxyformic acid, comprising contacting formic acid with hydrogen peroxide. The methods for forming peroxyformic acid can include adding formic acid with a relatively lower concentration of hydrogen peroxide, or adding formic acid to a peroxycarboxylic acid composition or forming composition to react with hydrogen peroxide in the compositions. The present invention also relates to peroxyformic acid formed by the above methods. The present invention further relates to the uses of peroxyformic acid for treating a variety of targets, e.g., target water, including target water used in connection with oil- and gas-field operations. The present invention further relates to methods for reducing or removing H.sub.2S or iron sulfide in the treated water source, improving clarity of the treated water source, or reducing the total dissolved oxygen or corrosion in the treated water source, using peroxyformic acid, including peroxyformic acid generated in situ.

DI-SEC-BUTYL PEROXYDICARBONATE EMULSION
The invention relates to an organic peroxide emulsion comprising at least one organic peroxide comprising di-sec-butyl peroxydicarbonate, at least one emulsifier, at least one antifreeze, and water; said emulsion being free of methanol and ethanol.
The invention also relates to a process for preparing such an emulsion, to the use of such an emulsion for the polymerization or copolymerization of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and also to a halogenated vinyl polymer obtained by using such an emulsion.
SOLID ORGANIC PEROXIDE COMPOSITION
Organic peroxide composition that is solid at room temperature, said composition comprising (i) at least about 40 wt %—based on the weight of the entire composition—of an organic peroxide that is solid at room temperature, said organic peroxide being selected from peroxydicarbonates and diacylperoxides, and (ii) about 0.001 to about 5 wt %—based on the weight of organic peroxide in the composition—of an HCl scavenger that is solid at room temperature.
